Pre-Order More Venture Bros. Toys

Entertainment Earth, purveyor of fine toys (and other items) have put up a bunch of new listings for various Venture Bros. toys, most of which you can check out at Comic-Con this weekend, if you're attending. And also those nifty 3 3/4" figures you've been hearing about? There are three sets with five figures each for $49.99 and coming in August 2012. They are:
  • Series One, Revision One - Hank, Dean, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch, Dr. Venture (red speedsuit) and Phantom Limb (season one)

  • Series Two, Revision One - Brock Samson (black shirt), The Monarch, Shore Leave (SPHINX), Molotov and Baron Underbheit (season one)

  • Series Three, Revision One - Dr. Orpheus, Dr. Henry Killinger, Jefferson Twilight, HELPeR and Henchman 1 (Scott Hall)
No photos of those yet aside from what we saw yesterday, but keep your eyes peeled on the Mantis-Eye Comic-Con coverage for more, hopefully!

BifBangPow! Making Traditional Venture Bros Figures

If the Mego-style Venture Bros. action figures weren't your thing then you may be happy to know that BifBangPow! is apparently working on some smaller, more traditional action figures. Comic-Con's preview night was today, so most booths were open and long-time Venture fan Chandra Free snapped a photo of these and tweeted it. I'll be at Comic-Con starting Friday and I'll be sure to get more photos of these (plus I'm sure many others will do so before me on Thursday) but for those of you holding out hope, worry no longer!

Score Some Mantis-Eye Loot Of Reasonable Quality

For those of you attending Comic-Con you'll have a chance to get what I'm sure is the swag you've been dreaming of. Obviously since I don't have an official Venture Bros. license I can't really make any Venture Bros. items. However this site's title conveniently contains no mention nor borrowed content from the series it is dedicated to, and thus the items pictured above were made. Stick the stickers and buttons where you want (as long as you are careful and have permission to do so) proudly showing your dedication to a fan site about a specific cartoon series.

To get it you just need to find me at Comic-Con. While that may seem daunting due to the sheer size of the place, note that I will be attending various Venture-related activities as seen on the SDCC schedule, so that could be your best chance (I will certainly be at the panel and at least one of the signings). Also every day I'll update the Mantis-Eye Twitter with the t-shirt I'm wearing (which will always be Venture Bros.-related) or possibly a place I am hanging around near, so you may be able to catch me that way as well. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you!

Shirtdown: The Final Shirtening

We're at the home stretch, kids! The last hurrah! Week five of the Mantis-Eye/Nonsek tshirt giveaway is over and we're into week six! This is your last chance to win a shirt, so make it count! Get over to the remix machine and get going.

Above is the winner for week five, which you can buy at Nonsek if you want. This was remixed by David, who contributed a number of designs to each week. I actually worry that participation will go down for the final week since he can't win any more, but nonetheless he deserved it! Congrats to him and good luck to everyone else!

The Special On The Special

Doc Hammer replied to a comment on his Facebook wall in reference to the upcoming Shallow Gravy special, which will be screened at the Venture Bros. panel at San Diego Comic-Con and then later air on Adult Swim a month later:

The special isn't the full thing. [AS] will air the full, glorious special right on your TV not that long after the con. So you're not really missing anything. It's like bunch of people listened to a clip of a Beatles song in 1968, then like a month later in 1968, everybody who wanted to hear the whole song got to. Now it's 2011 and who the fuck cares. Most of us heard the Beatles like 30 years later and it didn't make a difference. It's just bragging rights... Okay, rotten analogy. Whatever. I just wanted to compare us to the Beatles.

Mantis-Eye San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Venture Bros. Schedule

If you're attending SDCC and wish to absorb the maximum amount of Venture Bros. possible you can check out the official Mantis-Eye Comic-Con Venture Bros. Schedule which contains all the events, panels, parties and signings related to the show and the cast and crew. If you know of any stuff that isn't there please let me know and I'll add it. So for everyone attending hopefully I'll see you there, and if not have a great time at all the various events you attend!

Comic-Con 2011 Autography

For those of you attending SDCC there are a few times during the convention you can snag the John Hancock of your favorite Venture Bros. cast and crew members. Firstly there are two chances to talk to Jackson and Doc, first at the Entertainment Earth booth (booth #2343) on Friday at 2:30pm until 4:30pm and then next on Saturday from 1pm to 2pm at the Adult Swim booth (booth #3949).

For those of you Urbaniaks out there, the man himself, James Urbaniak (the voice of Dr. Venture and Phantom Limb, but you already knew that) will be signing stuff at The Devastator booth (booth L-05 in the Small Press Pavilion) from 3pm until 4pm on Saturday.

The Fifth Week: Winning A Shirt

Hello, friends! If you have been following the madness then you no doubt know that we are now in week five of six for the Nonsek remix shirt giveaway thingy where you can remix a Venture Bros. tshirt and possibly win a free shirt. I am currently away on vacation so I haven't had time to pick the winning design for this week (hence the lack of image on this post) but I will get to it the second I have some spare time! Until then you can continue to enter for this brand new week. Go forth and remix!

Update (7/12): I've finally gotten off my butt and picked a winner! You can see it above and buy it at Nonsek if you like. Sorry for the delay!

Shallow Gravy Special: August 28th

This has been covered but I think it warrants its own news item. News of the Comic-Con Friday schedule release also brought sad news for those not attending Comic-Con that the Venture Bros. special, "From the Ladle to the Grave: The Story of Shallow Gravy" will not be airing on July 24th as originally announced but instead will be screened at Comic-Con on July 22nd and later air on Adule Swim over a month later on August 28th. So people who were looking forward to that in a couple of weeks will have to wait a little while longer for new Venture Bros. However those of us attending Comic-Con will be sure to tell you how awesome it is in the interim, which I'm sure you'll enjoy hearing all about.

First Venture Bros. Comic-Con 2011 News

The fine folks at Comic-Con have released the Friday schedule which includes a panel with Jackson and Doc as well as the screening of the new Venture Bros. special, "From the Ladle to the Grave: The Story of Shallow Gravy":

11:45-12:30 Adult Swim: The Venture Bros. -- Show creators Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer will screen an early premiere of The Venture Bros. Special -- From the Ladle to the Grave: The Story of Shallow Gravy -- a 15-minute documentary-style animated special (premiering August 28 on Adult Swim), discuss their original series, and answer questions. The panel also features James Urbaniak (Dr. Venture). Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront

That also brings news that the special will air on Adult Swim on August 28th, and confirming James Urbaniak as part of the panel. Sadly it appears to be only for a scant 45 minutes rather than the usual hour. More stuff as it gets released!

It's a month old but there's not much news here for two years at a time, so whatever :) https://www.denofgeek.com/us/tv/the-venture-bros/281421/the-venture-bros-season-8-jackson-publick-doc-hammer

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!

I haven't seen a press release yet, but people on reddit say June 4, 2019 is when Season 7 is on bluray. https://www.reddit.com/r/venturebros/comments/b14aa2/june_4_2019/
