Brock Statues Will Ship In November 2011

For those of you who ordered a Brock Samson statue from Sideshow Collectibles you'll be pleased to know that they've finally been given a more concrete ship date. The latest Sideshow newsletter reveals that the statues will ship in November 2011, so in three months or so you have something to look forward to. For those of you who haven't ordered one but might want to, there are still some of both the exclusive and standard version left.

Flickcast Comic-Con Interview With Jackson and Doc

The latest in a long line of five-minute interviews with Jackson and Doc standing in front of a Comic-Con branded screen, the Flickcast only escapes the dreaded round-up post because they waited until now to post their interview. Check it out to learn what kind of gross, bachelor foods Doc has conceived throughout the years. Also some stuff about The Venture Bros.. That's with the royal 'the', by the way. It's difficult to convey in text.

BifBangPow! Smaller Action Figures Not Set In Stone

For those of you looking forward to the BifBangPow! 3 3/4" figures revealed at Comic-Con be wary that they are apparently not fully approved yet. Hopefully the outlook is good, but fellow Venture fansite Venture Bros. Blog has an interview with BBP honcho Jason Lenzi where he reveals the following:

Now, as excited as everybody is and I don’t mean to pee in anybody’s internet cornflakes, these are not green lit. We are not definitely going to make these. It all depends on audience interest and cost. With this scale, we are dealing with a different material and we would be doing everything from scratch. Each part of the figure has to have it’s own laser cut mold and it can get very costly. So it’s a question of whether there’s enough support from the fans to make the minimum needed.

So if you want to get your hands on those figures, let them know how excited you are! Also the interview covers many more toy-line type things and you should check it out.

Adult Swim Launches Gold Videos

This appeared to go up very quietly in the last 24 hours or so, but Adult Swim Video has launched 'Gold' episodes, which are full-length episodes you can view in HD. The caveat here is that you need to currently subscribe to one of their partner providers to watch the video. So if you subscribe to AT&T U-Verse, Comcast, Cox, Dish Network, DirecTV, SuddenLink or Verizon for cable TV then you can watch Gold episodes! Just sign in with your account thingy. Currently there are four Venture Bros. episodes up. There's no additional catch beyond needing to subscribe to one of those services, and there are still the usual number of normal-quality episodes up, though they're different than the Gold ones. If you have any more questions, Adult Swim put up some frequently asked questions that may help.

Shallow Gravy Tops Off A Night of Venture Bros.

For those of you who can't wait for your hot ladle injection (does that even make sense?) of Shallow Gravy on August 28th, you'll be happy to know that the two and a half hours that come before it are chock full of chunky Venture Bros. goodness. There will be four episodes of the show airing before it, including the hour-long season four finale, "Operation P.R.O.M." as a lead-in. The special itself (which is only 11 minutes long once you count commercials and such) will be airing at midnight the night of August 28th. Other episodes shown will be "The Buddy System" and "Tears of a Sea Cow" from season three and the highly-regarded "Everybody Comes To Hank's" from season four.

SDCC 2011 Panel Video on Adult Swim

For those of you who have been waiting, it's finally up! Enjoy.

LA Weekly Covers Venture Bros. At Comic-Con 2011

As has become tradition, writer Liz Ohanesian and photographer Shannon Cottrell were at San Diego Comic-Con this year covering all the Venture Bros. events for LA Weekly. For those interested there's an excellent slideshow covering the panel, the costume contest and the ice cream truck event with some great photographs by Shannon Cottrell. And if you still want more you should read Liz Ohanesian's tips for Venture Bros. fans attending conventions (not just Comic-Con, but any convention) which may be pretty helpful for some of you first-time attendees. Especially this handy tip that won't cause you to waste your one question at the panel:

Don't: Try to score spoilers during Comic-Con panels.

"All questions about what will happen in the show will be answered in the show" is a phrase that Doc Hammer repeated in various ways throughout Friday's panel. They won't tell you what will happen with S.P.H.I.N.X. or the Monarch and Doctor Girlfriend. Don't ask.

Seriously guys, we are going to have to have an intervention or a course or something.

Final Bits Of Comic-Con 2011 Coverage

For those of you wanting to continue to live vicariously through my own Comic-Con 2011 experience (and the breaking of my SDCC cherry) I have the final two features about the Venture Bros. portion of the show up. First you can learn all about the costume contest and Flying Lotus performance and then you can read the tale of when I met Jackson and Doc for the first time. There's also a bonus retelling of the second time I met Jackson in that one, a story you should all be able to enjoy and learn from. Thanks for reading!

Post-Comic-Con 2011 Round Up

As is often the case many sites covered this year's Comic-Con, and along with that comes Venture Bros. interviews and panel recaps and all that sort of thing. Here's a couple of them if you can't get enough Comic-Con: Keep checking this space for more!

Update (11:27pm): Added Comics Online video interview.

Update (7/30, 1:03pm): Added Sci-Fi Block's coverage.

Have Some Comic-Con Coverage

If you noticed the big Comic-Con logo at the top of the site then you've probably seen the Comic-Con coverage page, but just in case I'm telling you about it right now! Head over there to read up on the news and events from the convention. Right now I have a quick writeup of the Venture Bros. panel and some stuff on the newest toys with a little more to come later. And of course there's a bunch of stuff on the Mantis-Eye Tumblr if you're into that. Enjoy!

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
