Gallery 1988 x Adult Swim

I'm kind of late on reporting this, but starting January 13th and running until February 4th, Gallery 1988 will be hosting an Adult Swim art show. Essentially a bunch of artists will be putting together some pieces inspired by Adult Swim shows (including The Venture Bros., of course) and they will be on display for all to enjoy at the gallery. For those of you who will be in or around the Los Angeles area this will be at Gallery 1988: Melrose, which is located at 7020 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. I will be posting art that will be at the gallery in the coming days, so check back later for some stuff! As always you can subscribe to RSS or follow @mantiseye on Twitter to stay up to date on this stuff.

BifBangPow!'s 2012 Things To Come

I forgot to post about this for three days but if you haven't seen it yet, BifBangPow! has put up a New Year's message concerning the state of many of their licenses for 2012. Among them, of course, is The Venture Bros. Here's what they had to say on that front:

We're also entering our third year with THE VENTURE BROTHERS, and due to over whelming fan support, we're hard at work on our third wave of characters for the retro figure range. We're also knee deep in plans for SDCC 2012 already (for ALL our licenses!), and Team Venture will figure prominently. And we're exploring a brand new category for the VB license, and we think you'll agree, it's 'about time' someone did!

What does this mean for the future of the BBP Venture Bros. toy line? Well, when pressed on Twitter, they were quick to respond. So view that as you may. They also noted that the fate of the 3 3/4" figures will be revealed soon, so there's that to look forward to.

Venture Bros. Year In Review: 2011

It's the end of 2011 and what better way to end it than with a Year In Review article? I can't think of any. Of course this was an off-year for the show, though we did get one new (short) episode and lots of merchandising news. We also got to see Jackson and Doc do their thing at various conventions and more. Why not read all about it? Hopefully 2012 brings even more awesome!

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas (or other holiday of choice)!

Adult Swim Video Reintroduces Full Episodes For Free

You may recall Adult Swim launched Adult Swim Gold back in August which consisted of HD versions of their episodes available to anyone who subscribed to various cable providers. They subsequently ditched full episode streaming for everyone else, much to the chagrin of everyone else. However I just saw over at Adult Swim Central that they have now rethought that decision. If you head on over to the Adult Swim Video site you'll notice that there are now five free Venture Bros. episodes that you can watch, along with the usual offering of HD-quality gold episodes. It's a Christmas miracle!

The Final Re-Gift

If you've been following along the last few days you'll be sad (or maybe happy if you hate cool stuff) to know that today is the final re-gift from Venture Bros. creator Jackson Publick. Today's offering is two Spider-Man homages, both of which were part of some comic-themed art shows. Specifically they pay homage to Steve Ditko's Spider-Man where he would often devote a page to how Spider-Man's powers or gadgets worked. So that's it for now, kids. However stay tuned later in the week since there will be a traditional Venture Bros. Christmas song. If you need something to do while you wait you can always read all about and listen to the previous ones. See you soon!

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
