The Great Mantis-Eye Holiday Gift Search
Welcome to the more-or-less yearly Mantis-Eye Holiday-themed giveaway! This year we're doing a super awesome scavenger hunt, kinda. It's not a real one of course, but a much less expensive internet-based one.
How it works: Anyone can enter, but if you want to increase your chances of winning one of the gifts then you need an account. If you are signed in and click the big 'enter me' button below you will be presented with five quotes. Each quote is from an episode capsule and the whereabouts of one of the gifts. If you can find the gift on the episode page it's hidden on (by clicking on it) you'll increase your chances of winning!
If you don't want to play and/or create an account then you can still enter. Anyone who simply clicks to enter (or gives their name and email) will automatically be entered for a chance to win each gift. If you search for and find the hidden gifts on the page you'll only increase your chances of winning.
The contest (and prize hunt) will run from now (December 23rd, 2011) until 11:59pm eastern time on January 7th, 2012!
The Prizes
This year we have the four newest Venture Bros. action figures from BifBangPow! and Entertainment Earth plus a genuine Mantis-Eye Experiment mug (revision two).

Contest rules and legal-ish mumbo-jumbo:
- Winners will be picked from a pool of eligible entries. No account is required to
enter, however a valid email address is needed. All entries must be done by the contest's
completion date on January 7th, 2012 at 11:59pm, eastern time.
- Users with a registered account can optionally participate in the 'Holiday Gift Search'
in which they must find the hidden gifts on the website (mantiseye.com). They will be given
five random hints and must find each gift before the contest end in order to increase their
chances of winning. Each gift you find increases your chances by one point. So entering
normally you'll have a 1x chance, finding one prize you'll have a 2x chance, 3 prizes equals
3x and so on, all the way up to 5x.
- In the event that the winner refuses or cannot be contacted then another winner will
be selected and so on until a legitimate winner is picked. Each winner will have seven days
to respond via email before they are passed over.
- Gifts are won randomly based on the selection pool. The first prize winner will be picked from the entire selection pool. After selection the winner will be purged from the pool entirely and a winner for the second prize will be selected and so on until all the prizes are claimed.
- Once I mail the gifts it's out of my hands. So if it gets lost in the mail or damaged
there's nothing I can do about it, sadly. No replacements can or will be issued. It's never
happened before (as far as I know) so I'm sure this won't be an issue, but just in case I'm
putting this here. On top of that no gift substitutions will be made. Gifts are as described
and pictured and in more or less brand new condition as best as I can tell.
- By submitting without an account you acknowledge that your name and email will be stored in a
database. However I will not use any information to do anything other than contact you in the event
that you win. Email addresses will not be sold or otherwise solicited. You will also have to provide
me with a mailing address via email but that won't be stored in the database and only be used to
mail you a gift.
- I reserve the right to change rules or make up new ones as I see fit at any time. I probably
won't do that but just in case now I have all my bases covered.
