Uhhh, comments were broken before because of spammers and when something was upgraded nobody bothered to test it. I guess because we kind of ransacked the place before the poor guy had a chance to test anything out. Anyway, we uh, 'hired' a programmer, and it's working now, so feel free to post your 'addendums of undying allegiance to The Monarch' (his words, not mine). That's all for now.

Non-Monarch Publick Update

The insolent Jackson Publick updated his Live Journal with some news of his piddly Venture Brothers show. Bah! That's next on my list of things to "buy out", if you catch my drift. Along with a trailer for the season two DVD there's also some production news, but no mention of any Monarch-related scripts or props, so you may as well just not bother. We all know why you're here! On with it!!

The Monarch's Rule Extends

Behold my press release!!

Monarch Corp, LLC Announces Aquisition of Mantis-Eye Experiment

Grand Canyon, CO - April 2, 2007 - Monarch Corp, LLC, headed up by renowned super villain 'The Monarch' today announced the acquisition of fan-run Venture Bros. website The Mantis-Eye Experiment. The Mantis-Eye Experiment, known for its in depth episode capsules and notes, gets about 75,000 visitors monthly (much higher when the show is airing) and Monarch Corp believes it will be a valuable asset to their ever-growing domain of newly acquired assets which includes a minority share in Starbucks Coffee, as well as various New York City hot dog vendors.

The man behind Monarch Corp, known only as 'The Monarch', when contacted, noted that "The Mantis-Eye Experiment was a thorn in my side, because it was a major proponent of Venture news, but very little Monarch news. This, I could not stand for. It was time to take it down, but then I realized it could be better utilized for my own devious deeds!"

The site's former owner, Mike, could not be contacted, and the terms of the sale have not been disclosed to the public. Monarch Corp of course wasted no time revamping the site, changing the color scheme to the Monarch's signature purple and yellow and renaming it to The Mighty Monarch after Monarch Corp's sole shareholder.

Little is know about what is in store for the future of the site, but we can only assume it will be better than it ever was. And of course it will no longer be used to spread Venture-related propaganda.

So there you have it, minions! In celebration of this momentous event I have created a new Mantis-Poll, which should really be called the 'Monarch-Poll', but my graphic designer is on sabbatical after I shot him in the eye with a dart for his insolence. Speaking of which, if you have any graphic design experience, feel free to shoot your resume over to the G-Mail. Flexible hours! Good benefits!

Feel My Wrath!!

Big changes are coming, my minions. Big changes. Stay tuned to WATCH AS MY POWERFUL GRASP CRUSHES THE ONCE-POWERFUL MANTIS-EYE EXPERIMENT!! The Mantis is no match for The Mighty Monarch!

Three, Four, A Whole Lot More

Finally a new update over at Publick Nuisance where Jackson himself has confirmed season three being greenlit as well as Cartoon Network making a commitment to season four (though it's apparently not in stone just yet). As for the important info, no air dates yet, but it looks like it will start around a year from now. Production, meanwhile, will start up on April 9th after Jackson and Doc have a few scripts under their belts. Thirteen new episodes, as is the norm. There's a ton of other stuff there as well, including some rejected artwork for the season two DVD (due out April 19th), so go read it now damn you. Oh, and thanks to mystery man 'Gumby' for e-mailing me about that.

Season Three... And Maybe Four?

Wizard Universe has a recap of the recent Comic-con fun with Doc, Jackson & company. In short:

[S]how creator Jackson Publick confirmed for the packed event hall that “The Venture Bros.” would indeed be picked up for a third season and that a fourth season is likely included with that deal but would be confirmed at a later date.

But wait, there's more!

When asked for an air-date for Season 3, Publick said, "[Season 3] may not air until Spring of next year."

So okay, it may be over a year-long wait yet again, but they also may not want to get our hopes up again. Or maybe they just want more time to do their thing and not kill themselves making the show. All conjecture, just like what Dr. Girlfriend was about to say!

When asked later about the whereabouts the show's more sinister villain, the Phantom Limb, Doc replied, "You got that whole third season comin' up... Stuff happens, it’s gonna be resolved; we're not 'Lost!' We'll tell ya!"

Publicast... Podlick... Something Clever

Jesse Thorn, host of The Sound of Young America (a public radio show known for its in-depth interviews) sends word that he has a podcast up of his recent interview with Jackson Publick. I haven't had the chance to listen to it yet, but I think you can rest assured that it's going to be really great and probably quite hilarious. So check it out.

NY Comic Con!? Don't Mind If I Do!

Many thanks to Kuiosikle in the comments for pointing out that Comic Con NY will have a Venture Bros 'spotlight' with Jackson, Steven Rattazzi, James Urbaniak and Michael Sinterniklaas. Where Doc Hammer is, I can't say, but even James Urbaniak doesn't know. The panel will take place Feb 24th from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.

Spam Spam Spam Spam

Hey guys, in case you haven't noticed we're having some comment spam issues. For the time being I've disabled comments but I'll have it fixed up soonish and hopefully all the crappy comments won't make me want to kill myself and everyone else involved.

So uh, yeah, that's it for now.

Update [5:09pm] - I'm also in the process of updating the content management system, so a couple things might be broken here and there but I think I mostly have it in order as of now.

Update [10:21pm] - Alright comments are now back. I'm sure this won't be the end of it, but we'll see soon I suspect.

More Season Two DVD Stuff?

Over at Jackson's he's posted a shot of the season two DVD interior. Cool stuff. There's also some info on the DVD which you may or may not know already such as commentary on every episode, special features and deleted scenes (both animated and animatic). Oh, and you can pre-order it on Amazon.com for $21. So get to it!

Update (Jan 9, 2007 @ 3:47pm): Oh, and because so many people have mentioned it and I am also apparently blind:

Oh, and we've begun writing Season 3...

Woot!

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
