Hankerin' For Some Spankerin'

Since I'm sick I left work at around 12:30pm today and decided that, after sleeping for a couple hours, I ought to do something actually productive aside from coughing a lot which has produced an ungodly amount of a lovely yellowish-green phlegm (that's what we call 'sharing too much'). I may have to see a doctor. At any rate, I tinkered around with the site a bit and got a few things working and improved. The first of those is the long-dead Mantis-Poll which I have received many requests for since the last one back in April, though the requests have slowly died down to nothing as people began to realize that it was a lost cause. Well, no longer, because it's working and there's even a new poll up! I just thought I should tell you.

Aside from that I spent entirely too much time screwing around with the logo. You may have noticed I ditched the text links a few weeks ago for an image, and now the image lights up like magic when you hover your pointer over it! I also changed a few things (that you won't notice since it looks the same) so adding a new logo or even a new item to that menu will be a lot less work for me. So yay! I also finally got around to making a schedule thing for myself so I can update the TV schedule without having to run SQL queries.

I'm sure this is all terribly exciting to you, but rest assured that I am indeed excited about all of it, and I think that's what really matters in the end. Maybe.

Anyway, I've also gotten a ton of e-mail which I have read, but not done much else with, but I assure you all that I'll be updating the capsules with all the useful info and hopefully even getting the House of Mummies one done as well. So until then I bid you adieu.

Playing Catch-Up

Some quick things collected from last week. If you didn't notice AS actually aired VB's ratings the last two Sundays even though the show didn't place in the top three. 4th place both times, 670,000 for Assassinanny and 463,000 for House of Mummies. Not too shabby. As always those are listed on the ratings page.

Next up, Adult Swim.com has some new VB wallpapers up based on the season one DVD insert art. So if you have the DVD you know how awesome the wallpapers are, and if you don't have the DVD I guess you can print these out and pretend that you have it or something.

And finally the schedule has changed slightly. Episodes will still premiere at 10:30pm on Sunday, but they will then rerun at 12:30am on Monday. Also if you're interested I have the screencaps for House of Mummies up since that's the easiest part. I'm hoping to have the capsule/notes up by the end of the week, but being sick is awesome and since I have two weeks until the next episode there may be slacking to be had. That's all for now kids, so I'll see you guys later.

I'm Baaaaack

Hey kids. Had a good vacation, in case you were wondering. Consumed entirely too much Jack Daniel's and didn't get nearly enough sleep. I also caught an awesome cold towards the end of the trip, which sucked, but I had a ton of fun regardless. Some random pictures if you're interested:

As far as the site, well we're over 13 days away from a new episode, so there's not much on that front. I'll also be searching around for ComicCon news and info, so if you have any of that feel free to send it to me. Capsule/Notes for House of Mummies will be up by the end of this week most probably, but like I said I'm kind of sick so I'm not going to rush it. So that's about it for now.

Escape to the House of Mummies Discussion

Hey kids, it's that time again! Escape to the House of Mummies should now be up on Adult Swim Fix so feel free to talk about it in the comments right here. For instance, why are they escaping to the House of Mummies and not from it? Seems very confusing to me, but I guess we'll get our answers. I'll be off on vacation this week as well, so the capsule and notes won't be posted until after the 24th or so.

And don't forget: THE COMMENTS WILL PROBABLY CONTAIN SPOILERS, so if you don't want to be spoiled then don't go reading them. You guys are smart though, you'll figure it out.

Jackson and Doc Take San Diego

If you'll be around the San Diego vicinity on July 22nd you may want to see if you can get into Comic-Con at the San Diego Convention Center because Adult Swim will be having a panel there:

5:30-7:00 [adult swim] 2 for 1— That's right. Here's your chance to see new stuff and ask dumb questions. Panel #1: Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro (Aqua Teen Hunger Force), Jim Fortier (Squidbillies), Dino Stamatopoulus (Moral Orel), and Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha (Metalocalypse) will kick off the first half of this year's panel. Panel #2 follows with Seth Green and Matt Senreich (Robot Chicken), Jackson Publick (Venture Brothers), Adam de La Pena, Todd James, and Peter Girardi (Minoriteam), and Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim (Tom Goes to the Mayor). The gang's all here. You should be too. Room 6CDEF

Not only that but according to Doc's MySpace he'll be there as well. So you'll have the chance to both meet and pester the creative minds behind the Venture Bros. Pretty cool stuff. Be sure to ask them why the guest room has windows looking into the Venture compound pool, I hear they love inane questions from crazy fans. Many thanks to Kevin Brown for sending me this info. You can check out the rest of the Saturday programming.if you like. And I promise this is really my last update for the week (not counting the episode discussion post)!

Assassinanny Is Go, Plus Some Stuff

Quick update to let you guys know that the notes and capsule for Assassinanny are up. As always you can e-mail me any additions/corrections.

In site-related news, I'll be off on vacation from the 15th until the 22nd and unable to update or even watch Adult Swim. I'll hopefully be able to watch Escape to the House of Mummies on ASFix (I'll also be busy Thursday and Friday nights, and then I'm off to the Caribbean vicinity on Saturday morning, woo!) but there won't be any updates for that week. Good thing for me there's no new episode for two weeks after that, so I won't fall behind with the capsules and junk. The weekly discussion thread will auto-post at 6pm EST on Friday no matter where I am though.

So that's it for now. Unless some huge crazy Venture-related thing happens between now and Saturday morning I'll catch you guys in a week and a half!

Assassinanny 911 Discussion

It's that time again, kids. The third episode of season two, Assassinanny 911 should now be up on Adult Swim Fix (and will continue to be up until this time next week) for your viewing pleasure. And of course it will air at 10:30pm EST this upcoming Sunday.

REMEMBER: the comments will probably contain spoilers, so don't even think about reading them if you don't want the episode spoiled. Enjoy and play nice!

Still Need a Season One DVD?

Well I don't have any more (except for my own copy), but I was sent word by the editor that the Washington Obfuscator is giving away the DVD. All you have to do is link their website on your own page and you're elegible to win. It's a fancy way to get more hits, which I like (I wish I'd thought of it), plus you can win a DVD, so everyone wins! I think.

Hate Floats Notes Boats Moats Gloats Goats

Capsule, notes and cast for Hate Floats are up, though I'm sure there are more notes to be added. I've also gotten a ton of e-mail recently with notes for Powerless along with various tidbits for season one, which I swear I will get to some day, but I've been busy with other crap recently. So if you sent in something and it's not up yet, don't be sad, because I probably just haven't gotten around to it yet (that or it was stupid and made no sense, but I get very few of those!).

The episode reairs on TV this Thursday at 12:30am (technically Friday) and will be up on AS Fix until I assume 6pm this Friday when Assassinanny 911 goes up. The latest good news is that premieres will remain online 24/7 instead of the normal 12 hour window, so there's always an opportunity to watch Venture Bros. on the interweb as long as you have broadband of some kind. And you have my sympathy if you do not.

Hate Floats Discussion

Since the last one turned out so successful, I'll be doing one of these for every new episode. Hate Floats should now be available for your viewing pleasure on Adult Swim Fix and will remain up until 6am EST. If you've seen it feel free to post any thoughts you have in the comments. As always THE COMMENTS WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS SO DON'T READ THEM IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE EPISODE (unless you don't care about being spoiled). The episode will premiere on TV at the usual time of 10:30pm EST this Sunday.

Edit [7:32pm] - Jackson updated again, now with full episode titles! I just have to guess on which title is which production number now. Enjoy!

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
