JG Thirlwell Interview at Popshifter
Popshifter has posted an interview with Venture Bros. music dude JG Thirwell. It's a lengthy interview, but it covers a bunch of Venture-related things as well as the non-animated series portion of Thirlwell's career.
What are you currently working on or with? Is 2008 shaping up to be as busy as the last two years?
I am preparing a Venture Bros. soundtrack album.
Also a Foetus album of archival minimal recordings made between 1980 and 1983 (some radically updated or redone where the quality of the original is bad or unfinished). This will be packaged as a digipack with a 48-page booklet of minimal artworks.
And also a new Foetus studio album for release in 2009.
I'm also working on the score of season three of The Venture Bros.
Venture Bros. Power Hour
Just in case you haven't been paying attention to the schedule, starting this upcoming Saturday AS will be airing a full hour of Venture Bros. with episodes at 11pm and 11:30pm (eastern). So that's pretty awesome if you need to do some last minute catching up on season two before three starts in a couple months. That's all for now I think.
Audiosurf Is A Fun Game
For those of you who may not enjoy games of the video persuasion, Audiosurf is a game that can take any music track and make it into a neat racing (sort of) track where you have to collect or dodge blocks which represent notes from the song (it's hard to describe it without telling you to play it). It's surprisingly good at building tracks and a lot of fun (think of it kind of like Guitar Hero). It's $10 on Steam and a lot of fun.

Hate Floats In Commentary
Since there's really nothing worth mentioning in the last... long time... I figured anyone who doesn't own the season two DVD yet might want to check out the AS video show of Hate Floats complete with commentary. It should give you some insight into what you've been missing and maybe, just maybe, you'll want to run out to your local DVD supplier or internet web site which sells DVDs and buy a copy. Or maybe two, in case one of yours breaks.
Scheduled Downtime
Hey folks! Once again my awesome host Mancubus.net (that link might not work) will be moving to a brand new space on the internet. What does that mean for Mantis-Eye? Well for starters there will be some downtime in the week ahead. We're not sure how long but hopefully not too long. I've Built My Dreams Around You
As has been the custom the last couple of years (actually, since the show has existed), Quick Stop Entertainment has a holiday song for all to download and enjoy. This season brings the Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend and their own rendition of Fairytale Of New York. Excellent as always, of course.

Post-production Begins, Preproduction Continues!
Nice little update at Jackson's blog with a few new screengrabs of some stuff fresh from Korea and ready to be, uh, post-produced. Also word that the third season will probably start around June, which is a slight push backwards from what everyone was guessing, but not too horrible. And hey, season four has already been greenlit and will begin production shortly after season three, so there actually might not be two years between seasons! Imagine that!
