Jackson Publick Interview In New York Magazine

It's brief, but there's some good stuff and info on season three:

Will we ever learn what Dr. Girlfriend told the Monarch on their wedding night?
You learn it in the premiere. We just don't state it verbatim. What is this show if not setup and a debilitatingly disappointing revelation?

Thanks to Alex for sending me the link.

Top 10 Brock Beatdowns

In celebration of season 3 starting up this weekend (or tomorrow at 6pm EST if you want to watch it on the internet), Adult Swim has the Top 10 Brock Beatdowns. If nothing else watching Brock kick ass ten times will get you pumped for season three, where he will no doubt kick a few more asses. Enjoy!

Tell Me Your Thoughts on T-Shirts

Since I'm curious and there's actually a subject to vote on, I've put up the first legit poll in a long ass time asking what your plans for the Shirt of the Month Club are. What are your hopes and dreams and all that garbage. Well, go vote already!

Do You Love T-Shirts?

If you answered yes to that, uh, one question, then you may want to check out the Official Venture Bros. The Amazing Shirt of the Week Club! Exclamation point! For $250 you get one new shirt based on the episode that aired, plus a free shirt for subscribers. Or, if you don't wish to augment your wardrobe with fourteen Venture Bros. shirts, you can pick and choose and buy them individually for $22 each (which includes shipping), though you relinquish your rights to the free shirt. The shirt relating to Shadowman 9 is a pretty awesome Guild of Calamitous Intent logo as seen below.

Shirt Club!

The Schedule Rolls In

While not complete by any means, Adult Swim has once again updated their crazy schedule so that it contains the first nine episodes of season three. No names have been given but it displays the production numbers as to tantalize and possibly confuse you. I've update the Mantis-Eye schedule accordingly, and I even added empty capsules for all the upcoming episodes, though they don't provide any useful information.

It's also worth noting that the eighth and ninth episode titles were leaked on storyboard artist Stephen DeStefano's blog back in December (scroll down to the bottom to see them). So there you have Murder O'Clock and Now Museum -- Now You Don't!. Another episode title, The Ant Farm, was also leaked but not the production number associated with it, so I can't do much with that aside from speculate that we may finally see giant ant monsters. Finally.

Season Three: Eight Days and Counting

In celebration of season three starting in (roughly) one week, you may want to check out some articles:
  • Animation Insider - "Team Venture returns very soon to late night animation hub Adult Swim for a third season. Packing all of the action, adventure and wedgies that one expects in a season premiere of The Venture Bros., this coming June 2008 will see the hilarious parody quest animation kicking off another stretch of new episodes."

  • AWN - "Once the boys leave home, they inevitably find themselves in danger. Doc Venture's work takes the family everywhere from a space station to the Bermuda Triangle and the slums of Tijuana. But when your father has enemies like The Monarch, there is bound to be trouble. It's a good thing that muscle-bound Brock Samson, the family's bodyguard, is around to deliver his brutal form of vengeance."

Someone Make This Happen

People make all sorts of awesome custom Venture Bros. stuff, mostly thanks to the lack of official merchandise (aside from some t-shirts and the Kid Robot figures). For instance this guy has made a Monarch bust sculpt and it looks pretty gosh darned awesome, if you pardon my French. Hit up his site for more pictures.

Seriously, someone at Adult Swim has to make this a reality. I will give you money for it and some other people probably will too! It would be totally sweet! Why do you hate money?

Shadowman 9: In the Cradle of Destiny

...is the name of the season premiere. Just in case you were wondering.

We Haven't Had A List In A While

In some sort of strange coincidence I was sent two links by two people containing two 'Top 10' lists (made popular by David Letterman) on different subjects, but each containing Venture Bros. info. Exciting, no?
  • First off Noise to Signal has a list of the top 10 Venture Bros. episodes. It's a list I don't necessarily agree with as far as ordering goes (it's also missing Cremation Creek), but it does contain the best episodes of the show and you should check it out.

  • And secondly we have the Top 10 Adult Cartoons as decided by AskMen.com, which is actually a men's portal and not some sort of advice site where you ask random men about your life decisions. Anyway the list is pretty much what you'd expect to see and Venture Bros. is on there as well so give it a looksee if you want.

Patrick Warburton's Short Interview

TV Guide conducted a (very) short interview with Patrick Warburton which you can read here if you are so inclined. It's not very insightful (I suppose TV Guide never was one to ask the hard-hitting questions) but it will only take you a few minutes to read. Plus it's Brock-fucking-Sampson. Come on.

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
