Cancellation Confirmed By Jackson, Adult Swim Responds

Over on the Twitter, Jackson has confirmed the news that Venture Bros. was cancelled, which includes the in-progress season eight:

However, Adult Swim has responded to the outcry with some small glimmer of hope:

What this may turn into remains to be seen of course, but it's possible the the show at least gets a proper sendoff in some format or another. Stay tuned!

Venture Bros. Possibly Cancelled

Friend of the show Ken Plume made a couple of Tweets last night:

There's been no official confirmation anywhere as best I can tell, though a concerned reader did write me to let me know:

Anecdotally: I have a friend who works for Turner, and he says Adult Swim is facing a massive downsizing in staff, scope, and programming. This is all speculation of course, but I do have a bad feeling.

I have no way to verify any of this of course, and no idea what this means for season eight or beyond of the show.

Venture Bros. Season 7 on DVD and Blu-Ray

For those of you who want a hard copy of Venture Bros. season 7, it was released in both DVD and Blu-Ray formats a few days ago (June 4th, to be precise)! Sorry for missing the exact date! However, head over to you favorite purveyor of digital video discs and grab a copy. Over on Amazon they can be had for $18.99 for the DVD version and $24.99 for the Blu-Ray.

Venture In The New Year

If you somehow don't have digital copies or DVDs to whatever other media so that you can watch it whenever you want, Adult Swim will be airing the first season of The Venture Bros. starting in January! The only catch it is will be airing Sunday mornings at 5am (eastern)... which is also Saturday night depending on how late you stay up. Either way, it's a great way to watch the show in its natural environment; live on a television with commercials and everything! Weird!

The whole thing kicks off with "Dia de los Dangerous!" which airs at 5am on January 6th (the night of January 5th, if you're inclined). You can also catch replays of the end of season seven at the much more reasonable time of 12:30am on Sunday nights, though I'm not sure if they'll air the entire series in that far more coveted time slot just yet.

The Venture Bros. Will Return...

As seen during the end credits of "The Saphrax Protocol". Season eight... some day!

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
