Cancellation Confirmed By Jackson, Adult Swim Responds

Over on the Twitter, Jackson has confirmed the news that Venture Bros. was cancelled, which includes the in-progress season eight:

However, Adult Swim has responded to the outcry with some small glimmer of hope:

What this may turn into remains to be seen of course, but it's possible the the show at least gets a proper sendoff in some format or another. Stay tuned!

Devastating news! Jackson and Doc wrote a beautiful show that is loved by so many. The Venture Bros. has been my #1 All-Time Favorite TV show for many years and while I knew it would eventually end, I honestly thought/hoped that was still 2 seasons away. I'm a greedy fan who thinks they deserve at least a final season, but I'm truly thankful for the series we have. Go. Team. Venture!

psst, hey Netflix. If that monkey-paw version of MST3K could come back for a few seasons...

Otherwise, Atlanta is now allowed (once again) to be burned down to the ground.

Doc posted on FB this morning that will definitely be working together on MAYBE something venture related, but definitely on new projects. A new show would be absolutely incredible

Sadness. Adult Swim apparently only wants 3 or 4 shows, with 2 or 3 of those being non-stop reruns. Lots of platforms out there, so maybe the Venture Bros will return. At least a wrap up 2 hour, 1 hour, special? Assuming this big, baggy, lovable creation could be wrapped up in that amount of time.

I wonder if it is a bit the fault of the creators, those looooong lapses between seasons. I'm a patient fan but the show never generated the fan base I at least thought it deserved.

I echo the sentiments above. Sad to see it go but the gaps make it seem like it was already gone sometimes. All we can do now is support Doc and Jackson and what's out there of the show. Get the DVDs/Blu-Rays/Downloads if you haven't and, like I said in the other thread, they're re-releasing Art of The Venture Bros. the end of this year.

I'm shocked that it was cancelled but, you know, not surprised. When it was good, it was good. When it was bad, it was still well animated. It would be nice if AS would finance an hour special to at least answer questions about Rusty's and Monarch's relationship - brothers, clones... and if Hank has turned evil or is just trying to find himself.

Thanks for the link, I signed the petition and will refer a Venture Brothers loving friend, also. I don't think he's heard the news yet. Just another reason why 2020 is a horrible, horrible year.

JMFC!! Not to belittle all the other crises of 2020 but this year truly SUCKS @ss! Okay, I'm just going to throw this out there: Crowd funded web series? If a bunch of geeks can make their own fan made Trek shows why not a continuation of The Venture Bros. by us funding it on the internet? Who needs friggin' AS or any other cable network?

It has been so long, I cannot remember my login, but I just wanted to say a big thank you to Mike.

I have been coming to this site since... 2005? A long time now!

It was mostly black and pink when I first started coming here and it was the wait in between Seasons 1 and 2.

This site is where I read the breaking news we were getting a season 2. It was a good day. And you have been there every step of the way for the great days since.

Here's to the best fan site ever.

Go Team Venture!

Hate to be a 'me too', but I have to agree: this has been the best fan site for a long time: best signal to noise ratio, great analyses, great comments, thanks so much Mike, I really appreciate it, and to all of you as well.

See you all sometime...

Go Team Venture!

From head of HBO Max:
"The Venture Bros fans are passionate, but incredibly civil. I've received tons of emails, all of which are short very well written notes, oozing with politeness. Class fans. Nothing imminent, but know that we're working on it."

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
