Everyone's (Not) A Winner
Not to leave anyone hanging but I have selected
the winners! First place goes to the esteemed
Jonathan Chaffin who, in an unexpected twist,
gratefully accepted the Season 3 DVD as his prize.
That leaves second place, who I have emailed but
not heard from yet. They get the vinyl, though
they might not if they don't get back to me! So
if you entered and got everything right (except
question six, which I dropped) check your email!
If I don't hear anything by June 1st I'll just
pick another lucky second prize winner. But until
then, congrats to Jonathan!

If anyone has any issues or problems with them

For all you procrastinators the contest has less
than 48 hours left. Entries will be taken up
until midnight tomorrow (that's Pacific time,
otherwise known as 3am Eastern time)! So far
turnout has been pretty strong and lots of people

Season Three DVD and Soundtrack Giveaway is Here!
The long delayed Mantis-Eye seasonal (that's
Venture Bros. seasonal) DVD giveaway is here, this
time with a twist! Two winners instead of one!

It's pretty self-explanatory, but the main idea is answer fifteen Venture-related questions, and the two people with the most correct answers will get to be first and second place (in the event of a tie, the winner will be picked randomly). First place gets to pick one of the two fabulous prizes (season three DVD and soundtrack vinyl as chosen in this poll) and second place gets the leftover one. Pretty simple, right? I tried to make the questions at least a tiny bit difficult, but the answers should all be findable on this site, so sleuth away. So get to it! For those of you long-time fans you know this year's almost annual season DVD giveaway is long delayed (normally taking place around a week after release). After wondering which prizes I should give away, and halfhearted requests for free stuff from Turner and Warner Bros. going unanswered, I've decided to let you, the loyal readers decide! So hit up the latest poll (or check over to the right) and vote for what you want to win the most! The stuff that gets the most votes will be what I pick. A.V. Club Interview With Jackson
As part of the bevy of season three DVD promo interviews, the A.V. Club has a pretty good interview with Jackson. Sample:
I can after a while. I try to safeguard myself from doing that. I mean, it's easier sometimes to write in that vein than it is to challenge yourself to come up with a new villain or a new place to go or a new set of circumstances, a self-contained, good story. You know, all your souls, you have to keep them sharp. It's good to go back and really delve into things, it's good to get away from them sometimes. I probably am more inclined to take it a little too seriously, I think my approach is to make the funniest James Bond movie ever. [Laughs.] I think Doc approaches it differently, he's more concerned about comedy and the characters, and I'm more plot-oriented than him. I think he's way better at dialogue and comedy than I am. You end up with a good balance over the course of a season. I wouldn't want all of them to be the way I write, and I wouldn't want all of them to be the way he writes, but both are totally what the Venture Brothers are, and what Venture Bros. needs. When we write together, it's a pretty good balance.
Secret Bonus Soundtrack Tunes
Mysteriously a few days ago in the Season 3 DVD/Blu-Ray/Soundtrack discussion a mysterious commenter only known as 'nobody to do with the soundtrack' (which may be the truth, but could also be lies) posted this message which included a link to a zip file containing two tracks not on the CD (apparently cut from the final version). I didn't want to post this on April Fool's day (even though I didn't think of a gag this year, sorry) so I'm posting it now. They're much lighter tracks than most of what's on the soundtrack, but still worth having. Enjoy!
Also for those of you still on the fence about buying the full soundtrack, Adult Swim.com has a couple samples up that may sway your opinion.
