Urbani-cast

For those of you into casting pods, you may want to check out the latest New Ledger podcast as James Urbaniak is a special guest. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but it sounds promising. They go into James' projects, Comic- Con and a variety of other things.

PSA: @JacksonPublick is a Fraud!

If you're one of the 1,220+ followers of @JacksonPublick on Twitter I have some sad news for you. According to Ken Plume's twitter (which is real), Jackson isn't even on Twitter! So adjust your Tweets accordingly and instead follow James Urbaniak because he's a real boy. I promise!

Comic Con Panel CAPTURED... Sorta

UPDATED:
Okay, WeAreHugh522 (from YouTube) has been nice enough to upload all eight parts of the panel. Sadly he was unable to film the preview, but the rest of the panel remains mostly in-tact. Parts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Enjoy!

For sufficient definitions of 'captured'. This is the first 2:09 of the panel which includes the intros and a very, very brief glimpse of the preview video. It also says 'part one of five' but the other four are nowhere to be seen. Oh, and it's super blurry and I'm pretty sure the dude recording it gets in trouble for doing so. Adult Swim will likely have it up eventually, so you can wait for that. This is mostly just a huge tease.

Comic-Con Venture Bros. Panel

Since I couldn't make it to Comic-Con I'll have to do the next best thing, which is reading the Adult Swim twitter feed of it. It's Currently ongoing and I'll provide all the goods right here (or you could read it yourself I guess) until it ends at 7:15pm (Pacific). These are listed with the most recent at the top:

San Diego Comic-Con '09 Discussion

Since there's not much else going on, feel free to talk about any Comic-Con going ons here, Venture Bros. related or otherwise. Doc & Jackson & James & Michael & Jon have their panel on Saturday evening and a signing by Jackson & Doc in the afternoon prior to that, so there probably won't be much Venture-news today or tomorrow.

Comic-Con 2009 Schedule

A couple days ago Adult Swim/Cartoon Network released their scheduling for Comic-Con. For those of you attending here are some points of interest:

SATURDAY, JULY 25

ADULT SWIM: Series Development and The Venture Bros.
6:00 - 7:15 p.m.
Location: 6DE
Moderator: Keith Crofford, vice president of production Adult Swim

Fans will get the chance to hear from the Adult Swim development team and get a first look at upcoming Adult Swim programming. Nick Weidenfeld, director of development for Adult Swim and Matt Harrigan, executive producer/series writer for Adult Swim will give highlights of what's in the tube for fall 2009. Then, Jackson Publick (co-creator), Doc Hammer (co-creator), Jon Schnepp (co-director), James Urbaniak (voice of Dr. Venture) and Mike Sinterniklaas (voice of Dean Venture) discuss the hit animated Adult Swim series The Venture Bros. and give fans insight into the future of the series.

Saturday, July 25
3:00 - 4:00 p.m. The Venture Bros. Signing - Adult Swim Booth #3351
Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer

So there you go, Saturday, July 25th is the day for all your Venture Bros. related needs. There's a chance I'll be there for some kind of live updates, but nothing is set in stone just yet.

Speculation: Season Four Schedule

Without much else to report on I'm left to making wild speculations about the start of season four (or season 4.1 or whatever you want to call it). Adult Swim updated their airing schedule a couple days ago so it goes through September 27th (a Sunday). Though many airings are not finalized there's an interesting bit here:

Venture Bros. makes an appearance on Sunday night at midnight, which is the first time it's been on Sunday night in a good while. While I don't think that's the season four premiere, it's possible that is the start of a couple weeks of episodes that will lead into season four's start. Right before season three started they showed the last two episodes leading up to it, and given the cliffhanger-ish nature of the show, it makes a lot of sense.

As I said, I'm still totally guessing here, but the start date for season four is potentially around mid-October (which goes with what Jackson mentioned as a start date). Stay tuned!

Everything Is New Again

If you were paying particularly close attention (perhaps too closely) you may have noticed rumblings about changing this site. The previous version went up in July of 2007 and served me well but had been annoying me for probably close to a year. So now you have this one. Aside from the obvious cosmetic changes there are a number of improvements under the hood that will hopefully keep things running even more smoothly.

I also just realized that I've been running this site in some variation or another for almost five years now. That's a really long time. At any rate, feel free to let me know what you think either in comment for poll form. Bad or good, it's up to you!

Patch Adams

Happened to catch this randomly, but Adult Swim's shop has four Venture-logo patches for $12. Included are the logos of Venture Industries, Sgt. Hatred, the Monarch and Molotov's Black Hearts. Also in case you missed it (I did) the Bill Sienkiewicz-painted artwork from the season three DVD is also available for purchase for a mere $24. As long as you like orange.

Updatin', Ohio

After weeks of silence Jackson has a huge, chunky update for you to ingest. Apologies if that last sentence causes nausea, I feel slightly sick after writing it.

ANYWAY, the update covers fancy new info on the upcoming Season 4 (or Season 4.1 or whatever you want to call it). There are tentative episode titles, animation drafts are flowing in, editing has begun, a new member of the AstroBase (in the form of a whiteboard) and more! Also notable Jackson and Doc will be at Comic-Con this year with Mike Sinterniklaas and potentially co-director John Schnepp (also of Metalocalypse fame) and James Urbaniak.

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
