"Meanwhile Phantom Limb became a professor after Dr. Venture dropped out of college as noted by him being Prof. Impossible's replacement in Invisible Hand."
I agree that 'Phantom Limb and Dr. Venture' was the best answer to this question, given that all the others were wrong. But as I remember that scene, all we know is that Phantom Limb was taking over Professor Impossible's office. I interpreted the scene as meaning that Phantom Limb was taking over department chair duties, but I assumed that he was already been a professor at State University. Maybe I was wrong, but there is reason to think this. Phantom Limb had been at the university long enough to have started a Guild recruitment ring and built that huge muscle growth accelerator. This implies that he'd been at State University for some time. May. 24, 2009, 6:50am

"And this ingenious contraption you've built? Based off a Mike Sorayama design, is it not? He was a student of mine, you know."
Dude I have that scene memorized, Sorayama was his student.
"Ahh the greatest mind I've ever taught... until now. There's something you should know, William. Like you, I was born different. My family rejected me, the last son in a long line of costumed aggressors. Surely I couldn't take on the mantle of my father's forebears with this body. So instead I turned to science. What nature, in her caprice, left unfinished, science had the power to make whole again. And now that I have acquired this, my work is nearly complete. You see, I've recently become the beneficiary of a rather generous grant... FROM THE GUILD... of collegiate investors."
heh, I love Phantom Limb dialogue. :p May. 25, 2009, 5:10am

Soreyama could've been Fantomas' student after Rusty left, though.
We know (via Roy Brisby) that Rusty never finished college, and Soreyama probably had graduate degrees if he was a professor himself. Fantomas could've taught Soreyama after Rusty dropped out, or Soreyama could've been one of Fantomas' first grad students when he was starting as a prof. May. 25, 2009, 7:48pm
