...of hate? Maybe? Anywho, if you're reading this that means it's at least 6:00pm EST and the latest episode of the Venture Bros. is up on Adult Swim Video for your viewing pleasure. This week's offering is "Home Is Where The Hate Is" and according to Jackson it's possibly the most beautifully animated episode of the season! Use these comments to talk about the episode and remember that if you aren't planning on watching it until Sunday night you should probably avoid reading them unless you don't mind being spoiled. Enjoy!

This was another pretty solid episode... A few parts that were great:
"I'll be sure to put that on my to don't list"
"every time you talk to me there's usually another guy next to me... that's 24"
Jackie Onasis / Dr. Girlfriend
Pacman noises

Also, as far as I remember it was never clarified before, but after this episode it sure sounds like "nothing happened" between Rusty and Dr. Girlfriend in Mid-life Chrysalis

I'm guessing this weeks shirt will be a Sgt. Hatred shirt... probably featuring a big "H"...

Did you change the setup for the comments? The text input box seems to be a bit bigger now, and it all looks cleaner. Definitely an improvement!

I was thinking the same thing about the shirt. Although it'd be really funny if the shirt was actually the letters on Sgt. Hatred's abdomen. Just ATRED, vertically.

As for the episode itself, I felt like this one moved a little slower than first three. Maybe I need to watch it again and re-evaluate.

"every time you talk to me there's usually another guy next to me... that's 24"

And finally the acknowledgment that 24 sounds exactly like Ray Romano!

Hmmm....plus the acknowledgment that Dr. Girlfriend looks/dresses like Jackie O and that she got her voice from smoking, and that nothing happened between her and Rusty. Tying up a few more loose ends with this episode.

I'm glad they remembered the whole stealing-things-from-Sgt. Hatred comments and actually built it into some character development.
They still havent explained what Dr. Venture did to the Monarch; I'm betting it was nothing, or it wasn't Dr. Venture who did it. I'm hoping they don't just revert back to the old status quo, though. I liked the changing Monarch-Venture relationship.
Also, finally explained Dr. Girlfriend's voice.

My favorite part about Sgt. Hatred is how his name started as this throw-away character name in a joke about how the Monarch's henchmen stole a bunch of shit, and then he became a real character at the end of season two and now he's apparently going to be a major character and also apparently was instrumental in starting the Guild. I also wonder if Brock will ever realize who he is and how he's the reason Brock is guarding Dr. Venture. There's a lot of potential for drama late in the season with the insane number of character connections.

If you think about it, it could all be traced back to The Monarch's childhood. He grew up a) without his parents as a moral compass, and b) he probably grew up idolizing Rusty and Jonas Sr. like every other kid. But once he met the Thaddeus Venture version of Rusty in college, he saw a preening, bitching idiot of a human being who was ruining the name Venture. Rusty had to go before the name Venture and ultimately Jonas Sr's image was forever ruined. I mean, look at the Monarch's rant during the game of Celebrity Guess Who. He, the Monarch, bluntly points out that Dr. Thaddeus S. Venture is a complete failure and a waste of human potential. He had evrything going for him, a loving father and a life of wonderous adventure, and he squandered because if his bas incompotence. The jackass never even finished college, for Pete's sake!!! He , Dr. Venture, should never have even been!!! He deserves nothing less than a brutal death and a one way ticket to the fires of hell!!!! He is an egotistical moron, who should do humanity a favor and kill himself!!! Bu since Rusty's too self important to do that, the Monarch will have to act as humanity's ceansing sword.

Yeah, I mean, we shouldn't have pity for anyone, right? Because everyone lives up to everyone elses standards. Oh, and, yeah I almost forgot: Rusty's life was perfect.... my goodness, man.

I feel sorry for the doctor. The only thing he's guilty of is having to live up to others standards. He constantly lives in his father's shadow. Yes, he's pathetic. But dude, have some pity.

True. Actually, that was even illustrated in this episode when Dr. V is complaining about going to Hatred's party. Brock tells him "It's all part of this life you've chosen for yourself", to which Dr. V responds "No, this life my DAD chose for me."
I get the feeling there's going to be a lot of questions about Dr. V Sr. answered this season. At least I hope so.

On a sidebar, has anyoine else noticed that the good Dr. V (Sr. and /Jr's) have caused alot of damage in their time? Jonas Sr. basically destroyed his son's childhood, resulting in the self-important ignaramous known as Dr. Thaddeus S. Venture. Rusty, by age 43/44, has already dashed the hopes and dreams of a young man(causing Billy Whalen to go to that fated dog fight) caused 2 men to go insane with jealousy (the Monarch and Mike Suriyama, which are both grossly conjectured hatreds) improsoned his own brother(Jonas Jr., who fit into the catagory of insane jealousy as well,) shttered the hearts of two women (Myra was probably alredy mentally disturbed, but Sally Impossible didn,t deserve to be abandoned inthe North pole with a man who is even more of a dick than the Doc) demeaned a man's profession on a regular basis ( Dr. O, though it might not matter since Byron is probably a little mor sucessful that Rusty)and has caused a cycle of life and grotesque death with a little sprinkling of trauma and psychosis in top 9his own sons/clones). I'd just hate to say but, if Rusty doesn't shpe up soon, even Brock might think this guy's more "manipulative bastard" than "bitchy former child star/bad parent"

I am of the belief that The Monarch and Rusty are genetically related somehow. Notice in scenes where they are together - almost identical facial features, both have/had red hair - now both appear to be equally well endowed. Not to mention Rusty's reply when the Monarch mentions how much they have in common - "You don't know the half of it, buddy boy" (Although it's possible he is referring to his "conquest" of Dr. Girlfriend).
Whether it is the result of one of Jonas Sr's early cloning experiments, the tryst alluded to in "The Doctor is Sin" or some other origin, I'm going with the theory that they are related, and that Jonas made arrangement for The Monarch to live elsewhere and set up his trust fund.

Well, this episode has the slowest pacing of all the episodes this season, but I liked it. It had alot of character development, and also, I think this the ONLY episode in any VB season not to have bloody, gory, hilarious violence in it. And still I was okay with it.
This what I liked the best:

"Doctor Use-to-be-Girlfriend ", said by Sgt. Hatred. Yeah, that's right what a comical and dead on way to point out how stupid a tradition it is for women to loose their names when they get marries.

"You didn't have to take your clothes off, too!'
"Hey, I saw you take off yours and I thought slip and slide! It's just in my genetic make-up."
Dean trying to make 24 feel better, when he walks into sick bay with a clown nose and goofy blue Doctor's bag. "This sick bay is qaurintined, because smiles are contagious!"
And I laughed out loud when Dr. Mrs. Monarch said "Who the hell is Jackie Onassis?"
These charcaters on this show unlike let's say, Family Guy actaully remember things from episode to episode and season to season. Except for Brian. But, I've noticed on this season of VB, they are really being more character driven instead of story and schitck driven. Which is bitchin'. Also, Sgt. Hatred is the creepiest, Chester the Molester character on the show, which is saying something.
I wish I could live in a gated community for super villians. That's hardcore!

Jun. 21, 2008, 4:58am
Hatred unexpectedly shooting Rusty was hilarious.

I think I'll have to watch this one again to let it grow on me, Maybe it was the slower pace, but there was some good character development in that bland gated community supervillian party. I can feel for The Monarch how Supervilliany in the Venture universe has gone so...mundane. Hatred gave Rusty a gift basket!?

The rest of the episode with the boys and 21/24 evened out the slow pacing. Hank doing pac man's death noise...that sold me.

I don't think the gift basket was standard procedure, though. He was being extra nice to Dr. Venture to piss off the Monarch. Hatred knows that the Monarch can't stand to see Venture safe and happy so he is going out of his way not to harm Rusty.

Possibility 1: the cloning/memory bed reprogramming is faulty and they have died a few times since the molestation incident and their current incarnations don't remember the incident.

Possibility 2: they remember it (or anyway Hank does) but they are so used to weirdness and bizarre adventures that meeting Sargent Hatred a second time hardly fazes them. It's just another day at the office for the Venture Brothers. Like Hank says to Dr. Venture when explaining about being so nonchalant about Dr. Venture being turned into a giant caterpillar: he sees this weird sh!t all the time. Meeting Sargent Hatred a second time, in a social context where it is obvious that Sargent Hatred is no threat to them, would hardly be something they would bother comment on.

Of course Hank's behavior at the wedding at the end of Season Two doesn't jibe with possibility 2 outlined above. Unless Hank draws a distinction between sitting next to Sargent Hatred on the one hand and social situations like that party on the other where he isn't asked to sit next to him (who knows how his mind really works).

Maybe each cloning session just makes the boys stupider and/or they lose random bits of memory. Those programming beds and the computers they are hooked up to still run off of punch cards and magnetic reel-to-reel tapes, for crying out loud!

Even though there wasn't any on-screen "bloody, gory, hilarious violence," I loved the implied violence by the army of wounded men limping / crawling to the tank and the shot of Brock, covered in blood and breathing heavily. We're still waiting for the first awesome Brock moment of the season, but that image was great.

One of the Adult Swim promos shows Brock, dressed up in what appears to be mummy bandages, beating up a bunch of Sargent Hatred's henchmen. Since this wasn't in this week's episode, that must mean there's an upcoming episode where we get to see Brock go full bore aggro on some hapless henchmen. That also means we'll be seeing more of Sargent Hatred this season, which is double-plus good. He's growing as a character; should be fun to watch.

I like how Dr. Girlfriend's Murderous Moppets are growing as characters, too. The Monarch's reference to them as wanting to sleep like cats at the foot of the bed meshes with how Dr. Girlfriend explains the Moppets version of events: the henchmen are picking on them and 21 and 24 were very mean to them! Ha! The moppets are like Dr. Girlfriend's pet cats - evil and sneaky cats!

"Yeah, that's right what a comical and dead on way to point out how stupid a tradition it is for women to loose their names when they get marries."

Umm. I don't think it's really a tradition. I mean, more than anything, changing one's name when they get married makes sense. It's more of a distinction than a tradition. Getting married in a church: tradition. Having a wedding cake: tradition. Changing your name: effecient.

Example: I want people to know that my wife IS my wife. When we go places I want people to say, "Look, there goes Mr. and Mrs. Blah blah blah." Rather than "There's Mr. Blah and his wife Mrs. Blah Blah." Get my point.

I'm not trying to be mean about it or anything, but some feminists just think everything is about them. I don't think changing names strips people of their identity. More like it helps them embrace the new role they have chosen.

Sorry I'm letting it all out, but I'm about to get married, and my fiance is thrilled to take up the mantle of MILLER. It's not stupid, trust me.

Dr. Quymn, Medicine Woman, for whom an upcoming episode is tentatively titled, is apparently a good guy in the Guild face book. That's cool, 'cause for some reason I just figured it would be another villain. Having more 'good guys' on the show should be fun.

I'm not buying the "smoker voice" thing for Dr. Girlfriend. She sounds just as rough in the flashback from "Invisible Hand of Fate" in Fantomas' office, and I'm pretty sure that takes place before the year she said she started smoking. Even if the year isn't exact, I'm sure it would take a good deal of time to transform a normal ladyvoice into her Tom Waits/Harvey Fierstein grumble.

Oh like she's really going to admit to The Monarch when she actually started smoking! Anyway "Invisible Hand of Fate" probably takes place in 1989, the same year she guessed she started smoking, and I'll bet she simply added on a few years to when she actually started smoking (you don't think she likes giving out her real age, do you?).

Seriously, don't try to overthink this. It's time to put those "Dr. Girlfriend is a man" theories to rest. It's over.

I never said she was a man - I believe Monarch and Phantom Limb on that one. I just really doubt that smoking is the only reason for that voice. Even her being in Fantomas' class with the rest of the "freaks" implies that there was something weird about her.

I refuse to stop over-thinking about cartoons. That's what I come here for.

Sorry, I just assumed you were one of the "Dr. Girlfriend is a man" holdouts.

However, as to the rest, did you see her in the same class that Billy was in? I did not. Just because she's taking one of Prof. Fantomas' classes doesn't mean she was in the same class as Billy; also not everyone in that class was a freak. So I'm afraid your logic doesn't hold.

Also having a husky smoker's voice hardly makes Sheila a "freak". I just don't see what the big deal is or why it is worth the time to "over think" this particular topic.

Sheila's voice finally revealed to be a smoker's voice, after all this time and after all the endless fan speculation about her voice = funny.

Sheila's voice being due to some freakish "origin story", at this point = not funny, and frankly at this point, not very interesting.

I'm betting JP and DH are going with "funny".

Jun. 22, 2008, 6:39am
I didn't see her in that class, but she's obviously Fantomas' student. Not everyone was a freak and I'm not saying she definitely is. I'm just saying there is a possibility.
I doubt Hatred's comment is going to be end of it.

I don't think we're going to convince each other of anything aside from the amounts of time we can waste.

Holy shit. I thought I couldn't get enough of LAST week's episode, but I must have watched this one at least four times, already.

This is my favorite episode so far. Sgt. Hatred is such an amazing character - genuinely menacing in his old-school villainy. ("Listen, you scrawny little turd - I was a professional villain when you were trading Garbage Pail Kids!") Also - his entrance is incredible. Not only is the set-up in this episode for an on-going feud with The Monarch absolutely brilliant, but there's also the inevitable scenario of Brock eventually finding out that Hatred is his old commanding officer who got him assigned to Operation Rusty's Blanket.

I think my favorite part, hands down, is when The Monarch is screaming at Dr. Venture. "You are a brainless failure who lives off his father's fame and fortune! ... I've NEVER hated anyone as much as I hate you! ... You should just admit that you'll never amount to ANYTHING, and DRINK POISON!"

There's so much about that moment. You finally get a sense for why The Monarch has been arching Venture for all these years. There's also something kind of sweet about how he *needs* to hate him. There's a bond there.

The Monarch will always be my favorite character, for how truly ruthless he is. I was pretty psyched when he undermined Hatred with the explosive and almost bested him. Though, I really hope that it's not just a 'watching-him-squirm-because-he-can't-arch-Venture-anymore' plot, from now on. I like when they're forced to get along. I don't really want to see him arch him in secret on a regular basis.

I wonder what the circumstances were, by the way, of Hatred molesting the boys, if he never arched Venture before. Hank doesn't seem to remember Hatred in this episode, whereas he had during the wedding.

The relationship between Hank & Dean/21 & 24 is so entertaining. I hope we get to see more of it.

I agree with Dylan's comment, though - there's no way Dr. Girlfriend's voice just comes from smoking, although Hatred's needling was hysterical.

By the way - am I the only one who gets a little freaked out when Dr. Girlfriend's sexual past comes up? One gets the feeling that Phantom Limb manipulated her into doing things at parties that she wouldn't ordinarily do. It makes me feel The Monarch's insecurity so much more acutely, though, so I guess it's a good thing to bring up sometimes.

In addition, we find that Dean shares his father's emasculating daddy-complex dreams. Nice little touch.

However, Hank already has that memory of Sargent Hatred when he and Dean are kidnapped by Myra, and he has probably had that memory for some time - plenty of time to get back to the bed and have that memory saved. Moreover, after Myra is foiled by Brock, they head back home to the compound, where Hank is going to go to bed and get that day's memory saved as well; so there's no reason to think that the memory of Sargent Hatred would have been lost.

Either the cloning/memory bed process itself is faulty and they lose random bits of memory after each new cloning, or else Hank is now blase about Sargent Hatred and doesn't take him seriously (as long as Sargent Hatred obviously isn't trying to harm them).

As far as getting the memory after going to bed the night of the Myra incident, don't you think Dr.V might have wiped the boys memory a little that night? Seems to like erasing Myra from their memories.

Anyways, to me, Hank's perspective is this:"Oh, its that creepy guy. But he's standing over there, not sitting right next to me, and I'm about to go be hang out in the Cocoon with butterfly-men. Plus these weasels in my brain are keeping me pretty entertained and distracted so I don't see any reason to make any comments about anything with all this other character development going on around me."

actually, this is the second time dean has mentioned having disturbing dreams of his father, the first was in home insecurity, after G.U.A.R.D.O. attacked him, he mentioned that a giant robot with his father's face trying to kill him was just like in his dreams.

I have to agree that this is probably my favorite episode so far this season. Though I've only seen it the one time so far, it strikes me that they're finally "brought it," like this episode is really setting the stage for what this season is going to be about. Monarch not being able to let go of venture, conflict regarding the new marriage, plus the moppets vs the henchmen, and I really think sgt. hatred might be the phantom limb of this season, which I love, because he seemed like such a throw-away character, even when he was actually in episodes he was just your run-of-the-mill kinda goofy bad guy. It really shows the talent of JP and Doc to sneak things in that will unltimately become critical.

Only thing I can remember right now, During the "who am I" game, The Monarch's famous person card is Mark Knopfler, lead guitarist and vocalist for Dire Straits (pretty sure you see at least half of his last name to confirm it)

Pac-Man, the Movie Nell, pretty easy references to catch. I like the obscure and the oblique ones, like Invisible Hand of Fate's double Back to the Future refs.

Slow paced episode. Kind of reminds me of Tag Sale-You're It, but without the violence.

Obviously Sgt. Hatred has a vendetta against the Monarch. Hopefully, this will escalate and put the Venture universe in dire peril for archings sake.

Maybe the Monarch chooses to arch Dr. Quymm. Anyone find it odd how we always thought 21 and 24 would get along with Hank and Dean in the back of our minds?? Oh, the antics that would insue!!

Now someone answer this question for me: Does it seem to you that Brock is feeling kinda tired and worn out. It's been loooking to me like he hardly cares anymore. At OSI he was a badass. In season one he was a badass. In season two, badass. So far this season... he's more like a big blonde pussycat. I mean, yeah, we see him covered in blood. But did it seem like he even cares anymore?

I hope DH and JP are using this as a plot device. I would also like to see Molotov return soon. Brock needs her. The boys seem to be their old selves, but Dr. V has been acting even loopier than usual. Dr. K's work? Who knows? Maybe we will soon....

Not sure if it's against the Monarch, per se, but they definitely have something against the Henchmen (and a burgeoning personal grudge against 21 and 24). The murder discussion seemed to only include the Monarch's henchmen... for now.

Though if you want to consider something against the Monarch personally, it does seem very... disquieting how attached the Moppets are to Dr. Sheila (for lack of a better name we haven't heard yet). The 'catbox' scene in particular seems to certainly set up further direct conflict between the Monarch and the Moppets...

With fanatical, devious and borderline psychotic henchmen like that, though, you have to wonder how Sheila failed as Lady Au Pair. Say what you will about them, but Kevin and Tim-Tom seem far smarter than the average henchperson.

In Shadowman 9 when she is getting her new persona from Watch and Ward, she hints at having to get rid of her Moppets due to some kind of....trouble....that they had caused. Now I really wonder if these are the same Moppets as her original Moppets, or not.

The snatches of their conversation we heard were really ambiguous; but their reaction to catching 21 and Hank ("24") suggest they were talking about something more than merely doing harm to the other henchmen...something it would be worth killing to keep secret.

Of course I'm just speculating, but it might be a major plot point in upcoming episodes.

Oh, and also (not to add an unnecessary thread to the board, but I find it curious...):

Given the fact that the Guild was around when Rusty was a boy, there's no way in hell Hatred was instrumental in starting the Guild. It just wouldn't time out right. He's not in the Council and he's not a higher-up. Clearly he's been arching for a long time, but that's all.

SO - why exactly would he have been *assigned* to Venture? Why would a veteran villain be given Venture, of all people, as an assignment?

Clearly he has his own vendetta against the Monarch, but that has nothing to do with the Guild. Would he *really* have bothered to pull the strings to get Venture as an arch, when the Guild would have likely assigned him someone else, and reserved Venture for some lesser villain?

Think about it. As far as the Guild is concerned, The Monarch and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch are a-okay. They wouldn't be alright with Hatred doing some counter-intelligence job simply to appease some grudge over stolen goods.

Not that they don't make mistakes. Clearly Phantom Limb was initially as stupid as they didn't think he was, given the whole Manotaur thing. (It's worth noting that Manotaur is shown in full costume in the character designs for this season, so I suspect he either teams up with Limb to avenge his name against The Monarch or he does it on his own.)

So what would Hatred's *real* reason be for arching Venture? It's food for thought. I wonder if it doesn't have more to do with Brock. Either that, or the Guild gives suck-ass assignments to villains who've been working for them for *at least* 20 years, which seems unlikely.

Maybe the assignment is Hatred's punishment for his past "inappropriate behavior." Although if that's the case, the Guild should probably have chosen a target without children.

Also, I got the impression that Hatred is kind of over-the-hill and a little complacent. Maybe assigning him to Venture is the Guild's way of putting him out to pasture.

The Guild was founded in 1910, so I don't know why anyone would think Sargent Hatred had anything to do with starting it. There's not the slightest hint that Hatred is anything more than a dues paying member of the Guild.

Brock gave no indication of recognizing Hatred from his days at OSI, though. Either he already recognized who Hatred was years ago and so doesn't really care or think about it anymore, or it's another one of those cartoon conventions where characters don't recognize each other when in costume, or something.

That is likely because Hank and Sgt. Hatred are voiced by the same guy who admittedly has a fairly limited range. That's actually how Jackson speaks when he's using his real voice. So you are confusing intentional hints with a show that doesn't have a big enough budget to afford a new voice actor for every character.

some moments that seem to have been missed

"I'm watching this thing on PBS about giant crossbows. Looked cool." -Brock

When Monarch doesn't get the point in charades because he talked, he starts shouting "Mark my words!" and Hatred is all "Yeah yeah, we're all supervillains here, we've heard the speech a million times, you don't get the point."

"Sweet infinity shot though" -21

The obvious Patch Adams reference, and 24's subsequent telling 21 "I hate you"

Also, I noticed the moppets were talking about setting up a gas leak. I kinda doubt the cocoon has a gas line, so I wonder if maybe they're trying to kill the Monarch and Dr. Mrs the Monarch, or someone else?

If you listen to that entire scene they are obviously wanting to kill The Monarch (they say it). They like Dr. Girlfriend. They hate The Monarch. They have to do it carefully so they don't get the blame or else they will no longer be working for Dr. Girlfriend.

the moppets say:
"leave the gas on, THEY go in THEIR sleep"

obviously talking about more than one person - if dr girlfriend & the monarch are the only ones living in the house obvious they're talking about the henchmen.

not to mention they say "it'll look like an accident... it won't be as much fun ... but then the monarch won't be expecting it when we..."

Does anybody remember when/what episode in the DVD commentary they talk about how they came up with Sgt. Hatred? This episode inspired me to listen to it again, but I can't find it anywhere.

On the note of people believing that the boys don't remember Hatred - and more so speculating about their memories being tampered with - Please note Hank's expression at the very end of the episode as he walks past Hatred in the hot tub.

I assure you, it is VERY "Good Day Sir, You Bad Toucher You!"

And Dean's blank expression? Too much wine can do alot to a boy.

Ok. So I might have been wrong about what the Moppets' were in cahoots about.

However, all this discussion on how we finally know the source of where Dr. Girlfriend gets her voice from....

We briefly saw her talking to Prof. Fantomas in "The Invisible Hand of Fate" and she had her deep voice. This was dated about 1985 (when Back to the Future was out). She said she started smoking "1989-ish". So now how does smoking cause her voice? Clearly a pre-existing condition.

Besides. Sgt. Hatred doesn't really know. He was making a logical observation when he made his comment.

This would probably be a good poll topic, as there seems to be quite a split in people's opinions of it. A few poll possibilities:

smoking
genetic
botched science experiment that turned her evil
physical injury
she faking the voice
born a man
accidentally took medicine / hormones at some point

I'm sure other people can think of some better ideas... I was just trying to fill out a decent list...

i'd be game to believe that the smoking and the voice were unrelated.

or, maybe she picked up smoking as a result of everyone commenting on her husky voice, figuring that a delicious smoke was preferable to explaining all of the time.

Okay, so this is my first time posting here at the Mantis Eye (although I have been reading it for years). First off I'm gonna say that this episode is my favorite of the season thus far, being the first episode to really feel like a full-blown comedy. I love all the back-story and stuff but this one made me laugh all the way through.
As for the two topics that seem to be dominating this boar, here's my two cents...
The Moppets are clearly being set up as antagonists. Their loyalty to Dr. Girlfriend is questionable at best, so I'm not sure why everyone is so sure that they aren't trying to kill her along with the Monarch. While watching the episode it seemed to me that after playing the victims to position themselves inside the house, they were clearly plotting to kill The Monarch AND Dr. Girlfriend, possibly to take control of the operation themselves. They obviously don't have a problem savagely knifing 21 and 24 to death in the hedge maze so why would they care about making it look like an accident? Plus, they already have special treatment within the ranks, so there is no real motivation for them to get all the henchmen out of the way. I think the Moppets are more sinister than y'all are giving them credit for.
As for the doctor's voice, I really think everyone is over thinking it. The whole idea of her voice just comes from the fact that it's hilarious for a super-hot chick to talk in the deepest manliest voice ever. The speculation over the origin of said voice is just kind of a minor ongoing joke. Hatred's comment, I believe, was just part of that joke and not meant to be any sort of revelation or plot point. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was no explanation of Sheila's voice beyond that fact that she was just born with it. Ya know, cuz it's funny. We all should remember that Venture Bros. is a comedy show before all else.
That said, this season has been exceptional so far and seems to be getting better and better. But would we expect anything else from Doc and Jackson? I think not.

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
