Final Episodes of Season 5 Named
In case you were curious here are the names and descriptions of the final three episodes of Venture Bros. season five. "O.S.I. Love You" (the fourth to last episode) airs this Sunday night at midnight.
"Momma's Boys" (July 7th) - A friendship begins to unravel Dr. Venture's sanity; Hand and Henchman 21 are committed; Dean has a relationship with a mystery woman.
"Bot Seeks Bot" (July 14th) - Brock and the O.S.I. launch a surveillance mission against a council member; Doc and Billy are caught in the crossfire.
"The Devil's Grip" (July 21st) - Dr. Venture is presumed dead; Hank and Dean are sent to live with their godfathers.

And Col. Gentlemen for sure. I wonder though...why would they need to go to their godfather if they have a bodyguard? Does something happen to Hatred? If he's the supposed "Hand", that makes sense. He gets committed with 21 (maybe after attacking Monarch for being friends with Doc?) and no suitable replacement can be found?

There were an awful lot of "let's use the family dynamic while we can" sort of episodes, if that makes sense. It was like a surplus of Dr. Quymn episodes where everyone needs to be present vs ones like Doc playing Scattergories.
We got to catch up with Gary, but there's been an awful lot of those previously mentioned episodes this time, complete with Hatred and Sulky Dean, that made me suspicious that we weren't going to see another Venture Libre style episode after a while.

Yeah I totally agree, there's that underlying sense of dread that the way things are now is soon ending, much like Season 3. I have a feeling they're gonna top "Family that Slays Together, Stays Together" in terms of cataclysmic for the show structure. I'm not sure if I can take it though...
The main resemblance I've seen between this season and 3 thus far has been that both have been flawless (Unless we're including the Halloween special, which, blegh.)
But I do see what you're saying- in retrospect, 24's death was all but telegraphed (The entirety of 'Tears of a Sea Cow' and 'The Lepidopterists', his hospitalization due to the Moppets,) but it only took on a sinister tone in light of 'The Family That Slays Together, Stays Together'. So there is a good possibility that by the end of the season, there will be a significant change in status quo.

If Doc is presumed dead then it was his funeral we saw in the previews. I wonder if the scene of Doc and Hatred running off the bridge is part of the reason Doc is presumed dead.
Momma's Boy is probably where Monarch is drilling Doc's teeth. But I kind of think the scenes where Doc has a bandaged head, sees the Hover Tank etc are part of "The Devil's Grip - Doc staggering home while people still think he's dead.
What we can conclude is that "OSI Love You" is going to be head-long action.

I'm so sick of anti-spoiler outrage. It's almost always phony outrage (i.e., it's just one more excuse to release pent-up trollery), and when it's not, it's still off-the-charts annoying. It's completely unrealistic and more than a little arrogant to expect everyone in the world to refrain from saying anything of substance about a TV show. Most of us make reasonable efforts to not spoil movies and TV shows for others. That should be enough.
And as for "The Simpsons," I can't believe it's still on. It was great for a seven- or eight-year period, but that was a long time ago!

Ok, Momma's Boys- the friendship is with the Monarch, who wants to find out what happened with the photo. Friends with the arch may be too much. Don't know why Gary's getting commited but I agree that it's probably Hank (unless Black Hand shows up). Dean's relationship will end the emo phase but might give him a disease.

I actually figured Momma's Boys would be about the boy's mother, with said friendship in the synopsis referring to Doc becoming irritated with Hank and Dermott. Along that same line of thinking, I couldn't help but think that Dean's 'mystery date', excuse me, 'woman', could be Myra. Maybe they're talking on the Venture equivalent of tumblr, unbeknownst to Dean, hell if I know.
I'm not sure why so many posts refer to Dean's new look as "Goth." It's difficult to define any subculture, of course, but I think it's safe to say that the Goth subculture is most often associated with 80s bands like Bauhaus, The Cure, The Birthday Party, Echo and the Bunnymen, Love and Rockets, etc. And more recently, it's been extended to what I would call "deathrock" or "industrial" bands. Typically, these bands were/are associated with black clothing, heavy make-up (white face and dark features), and dark hair (often spiked up). It's a look that partly inspired by Victorian fashion and partly--I can only assume--by horror movies/imagery.
Dean is now wearing all black and has dyed his hair darker, but he doesn't wear face make-up and we haven't had any indication that he identifies with Goth bands. The only possible music connection that I can think of concerns Dean's line in "What Color Is Your Cleansuit?": "Black is what I feel, so black is what I wear." The line is reminiscent of a line from The Smith's song "Unloveable": "I wear black on the outside because it's how I feel on the inside." I don't know if the similarity is intentional--I've never heard Jackson or Doc voice appreciation for The Smiths/ Morrissey--but if it is, it would actually cut against labeling Dean a "Goth." The Smiths music, while undeniably dour, has never been associated with the Goth movement.

I'll throw my hat in the ring with a theory for Bot Seeks Bot. I'm guessing that whatever council member they're trying to spy on is a robot and that they'll use a "female" robot to seduce/romance some secrets out of him. That "female" robot will be Destiny and Hank's chance to prove himself to the OSI.

"Bot Seeks Bot"--The O.S.I.'s surveillance mission is against the blue-suited guy with the funny hat, the one that Brock knocks out in the bathroom of the Chinese restaurant. Doc Hammer will use the same robot-like voice he used for the character in "Shadowman 9." Doc and Billy being caught in the crossfire refers to their being caught, ball-gagged, and tied to some sort of game show wheel at a Guild party. Brock and Shoreleave, both in disguise, try to save them. A repaired Ghost Robot is also involved, giving us the "dueling robot voices" episode Doc Hammer referred to in a season four commentary.

The sizzle reel shows some funeral scenes, but I can't imagine it's Doc's funeral, what with all the Guild members present.

On Jackson's Tumblr there's a picture of goth Dean standing next to a tank with two bodies in it. Bo clue who's in the tanks one could be Doc, the other doesn't seem large enough to be Hatred, but I could be wrong. It does suggest that Doc maybe be almost dead at some point. I doubt that they will kill off Doc this early in the series since there are so many mysteries surrounding his life yet to unveiled.
I was looking for the second image of the villain disco club where we're supposed to see Dean sitting at a table. Never found that, But in the image of Blue Man and Blue Robot in the Chinese restaurant there is a guy in a grey speedsuit and reddish hair who could be a non-goth Dean. Or just a guy. I'd vote for the latter.

I had to back and check because I didn't remember a picture of Dean next to a tank...

This is just a guess, but maybe the O.S.I. is messing around with cloning. I mean if you think about it, it kind of makes sense. After the O.S.I. found out that Doc was working with clones in the Season 3 finale, they might want to try using it to their advantage. You can see O.S.I. guys loading the dead clones into the back of their van in the Season 4 premiere. Who knows if they were just getting rid of them or if they were using them for their own clone research. Look at the picture of Dean in front of the tanks. The bodies are in a tank and you can see the veins in the legs of the closer one. Another reason why I'm thinking clones is because Dean is there. After his discovery that he is a clone in the Halloween special, it would make sense that he is put in a situation that makes him deal with the fact that he's a clone and gives him a way to talk to people about this. Maybe after this he'll get out of the goth phase.

EEEEeeeeee this series has been so great so far, seriously @_@ My best guesses for the mystery woman Dean is obsessing over for next week's episode (for the rest... I got nothin').

I got to thinking about who this mystery woman might be and I think I have the answer- it's Kim! After having said many, many times they were never bringing her back, it would be just like them to change their minds and bring her back, maybe as a supervillain like she said she was going to and bring Dean over to the villain's side. I've heard others guess that Dean would become a villain and how better to make him one than with a super-divisive character like Kim?
