Ok, so I'm sold. So much great stuff, so many plotlines to go to this season. Hope the Sea Captain finally gets the dart monkey off his back. Wonder what Monarch will do now that the Tobias Whale guy (which is a great ref) has arching rights on Dr. Venture. And I definitely want to know more about the Atlantis-type Hank fell for.
Lots of great stuff in the fight near the end, especially when Brock was in the Lasso of Truth. Feb. 1, 2016, 12:31am

It wasn't until I watched the second time that I made the connection. After seeing the end credits and seeing that Stars & Garters' secret identity was Tosh [Thompkins(?)] and then hearing Brown Widow say his name out loud. I guess most people were supposed to remember that Warriana called him by his first name earlier in the episode, but I never watch a first run very critically.

I'm hoping Doc makes him head of security. I mean he probably fired the previous head of security...with the business suddenly so big it'd make sense to have a family bodyguard and somebody taking care of the building. Plus Hatred wants to redeem himself for letting the compound burn down.

Well, if you remember the teaser from 2014 that was supposed to be about Gargantua 2 but was really Watch and Ward going on about a Villain killer, there's a bit that reads "He has murdering gadgets and a larger, possibly more deadly friend with him." I have a pretty good idea what's going to happen, but I never make Venture predictions publicly.

Yeah, Warner Home video probably won't even bother putting out a season 6 set, b/c digital is king now. Meaning these will never be released properly along with the season.
And if you buy digitally you don't get fully uncensored audio or any epilogues.
Anyway, these will probably all eventually get lost forever. I wish they'd just air with the body of the show after the astrobase logo.
Oh, well. Yay, for fucking epilogues.... getting lost forever..... just one more blow to my favorite show. Feb. 1, 2016, 10:40am

People are so blinded by awesome new Venture... they have no idea that these epilogues will actually become a giant headache for completionists who want to own the entire series.
Mr. Reachmore... reach the people! Tell them the truth! Internet content is BS! They're just cutting up our favorite show now! Feb. 1, 2016, 10:47am

Super bummed that the epilogues might be left out, but I ordered the season on iTunes and its uncensored audio. But I can't imagine that they'd get forgotten about and left out. They'll probably be included later or bunched together like extra/deleted scenes. Have faith in Jackson and Doc! They hate extra shit that screws the fans.

That's awesome about the uncensored audio!
When Brock drops F bombs I wanna hear 'em.
Anyway, Warner Home Video is responsible for everything. J&D can submit them... but that doesn't mean Warner will include them on a bluray set. Heck, many shows are getting physical releases cancelled altogether.
The new season is gorgeous... so Warner probably won't even release a bluray set... just a dvd one... if we're lucky. Robot Chicken and Mike Tyson got their bluray releases cancelled... straight to dvd.
Rick and Morty & V Bros. are the only two AS shows that get bluray releases now. I'm soo fucking afraid they'll end them and go all digital.
Adult Swim has nothing to do with what Warner Home Video wants or does.
This is why I have issue with epilogues. I hate content that could easily get lost. Especially content I absolutely adore! B/c the epilogues rock! Feb. 1, 2016, 2:54pm

I get you. I agree. The epilogue = essential viewing. It's not just for fun, it pushes the narrative. Shame if it gets cut out later. I think they'll still present Blu-ray. It's being made in hd and people will buy it. Although it sounds like you're a lot more up on the behind the scenes business. I hope they surprise you!

It's mine, too. It's insanely deep and clever, and there is always more to catch in each viewing.
I just realized that the Gargantua-2 epilogue is the "sneak peek" that is included with the season 6 pass, so maybe there is some hope for these individual show tails. I want the maybe no go one to be posted online already. I need completion! Feb. 8, 2016, 2:08pm

I feel like 5 & 6 are just one long season, the way 4 was split. Except in a way where you need to pay twice as much for the same amount of content. Season 5 through 6(ep1 at least) with G-2 all has a similar feel and flow. But I just consider the entire series one long saga with phases of time and arcs of various failures. But now Rusty's back!

I may have to even further go back on my trivia, Adult Swim's website is counting Gargantua as S6 E1.
Also comparing S4 and S5/6 is interesting as they both have about the same format, but are numbered differently. 4 V1 and V2 are one whole season but premiered a year apart, and each had their own arcs beginning and ending in them. I almost wish they just called each 8 episode part a season, because broadcast wise we're basically on the seventh season.
And I definitely agree that the series flows REALLY well together, rewatching it is a blast when it's episodes like Gargantua-2 and this where the ending of one just immediately ties into the next one. Feb. 1, 2016, 3:32pm

Ok, here's what I can remember off the top of my head-
Wide Whale is a reference to Tobias Whale, an enemy of the DC character Black Lightning
Warriana's armor only has a covering for 1 breast (which Brock alludes to under the influence of the truth lasso) and in myths, Amazons warriors would cut one breast off to improve fighting abilities (Warriana being based off of Wonder Woman)
Hank's outfit and moves when he ziplines to the aquatic girl are reminiscent of John McClane in Die Hard.
Plenty more but these are what come to mind right now. Feb. 2, 2016, 4:50am

I also loved that an Adult Swim bump acknowledged the fact that at the current rate, season seven will likely happen... in 2021... on the international soap opera network.
Basically, AS stated (in a nice way) that the J & D need to streamline the production process or the show will end... but don't worry yet, b/c season 7 is in the works.
Yay!!! Go V Deep!!! Feb. 1, 2016, 10:59am

Maaaaaan, the Fallen Arches guy`s gimmick was pure effin excellence. The lopped off Amazon breast reality was also choice 10 striped spiders over Texas salute! Phage`s threat.
As usual, great gestalt characters, like the OSI throw aways. Come back ya NY Doll stupor freaks!
Hope there`s a review this season of the latest Bowie. Doc & J.P. have similar tastes to me, & maybe it`s a better cd than the snap meh served via promo vid. I dont trust my friends at this point much less the reviews. Asking a lot, but ya know, Spongebob was a voice kick in the ribs. Bowie blew it (printed on his urn no less). Feb. 2, 2016, 12:04pm

I won't re-hash all of the points made above. Instead, I'll just list a few of my observations and questions about the episode:
1. I loved the idea that Hank--who has always worn Aquaman pajamas--is smitten with a real-life semi-aquatic girl, while Dean--who has always worn Spider-man pajamas--is hanging out with Brown Widow.
2. What's going to happen with Orpheus, Dermott, Billy, and Pete White? They were completely absent from the episode, and I'm wondering how much we'll see them going forward. Are they still living in the Southwest? If so, how will their paths cross with those of the Ventures? I like all of those characters, so I hope that Jackson and Doc find ways to work them into the remaining episodes.
3. I loved Wide Wale. A super-villain based on a pun about corduroy? Only Jackson and Doc. Oh, and I love how Wide Wale's beef with Rusty seems to be based solely on the broken window incident.
That's all I can think of right now. Feb. 3, 2016, 9:51am

Sadly, there will be none of Doctor Orpheus.

The important bit:
Publick: I don’t know that Triana is necessarily gone forever, because Orpheus isn’t gone forever. He, unfortunately doesn’t make an appearance this season, but he’ll be back. And we intend to fold our most dear supporting characters back into it. We did have a story for him, but we just didn’t get to it. Feb. 4, 2016, 2:53pm

Oh goodness the long wait is over. I was already insom-maniacal the night s6 started so i saw no reason not to watch the episode twice. Much love as always to J.G. Thirwell and the sound designers. Do yourselves a favor, folks, watch the show with headphones sometime!
I feel like there is another shoe yet to drop connecting Warianna and the website the Warrington Post: perhaps run in the venture-verse not by Arianna Huffington but by... Warianna Warrington?
When she leaves, she addresses Brock as "Gargarean." YOU KNOW! The all-male tribe the Amazons have sex with annually. Feb. 8, 2016, 9:10pm
