So Hank wanted to remember he got laid, but not that it was w/ Dermott's mom/rustys gf. But Shoreleave told him you cant select what to keep, only how far to go back.... But he got laid before he learned the news of Dermott's history....so why couldnt they just erase what he learned and not the sex?

Fantastic Episode. Definitely tied with "The Better Man" as my favorite of the season. So many revelations, and the noir-style writing was spot-on and hilarious. Can't wait for next Sunday when we get to see what Dean was up to.
Also way to go Hank, even if what happen was a bit creepy. Oct. 4, 2010, 12:03am

I liked this one. It started out a bit slow but it got real awesome real fast. Those detective stories are enjoyable for me. I would have liked to see Jefferson at least a little but I admit he wouldn't have much to do. Still, he's a part of the Triad too dammit. Glad to get some info on Dermott. Although that means Nikki looks really good for her age.

I think The Master got it wrong. In Powerless in the Face of Death, Rusty said he made all the clone slugs from fingernail clippings or such, not from previous clones. So, there wouldn't be the copy of a copy degradation The Master spoke of, maybe he just did that to convince Triana to leave and reach her full potential.

I am also confused by this.
Dean, Doc V and Hatred leave for New York
Doc V and Hatred return to compound 4 days later
Dean returns from New York at the end of episode (end of summer) and asks Hank if he had seen Doc V because he left without saying good bye.
Maybe Dean is saying that he disappeared after the second time Doc V returned to New York to pick him up? I don't know. Oct. 4, 2010, 6:22am

Nope, never have, not ever any hints that Dermott had a "sister". Sort of a shock to find out she's been there all along, selling Billy Quizboy Rusty Venture memoribilia & stuff. Even bigger shock that she & Rusty are Dermott's parents.
Plus, I think I have that issue of Toyfare magazine that she had on her coffee table. :p Oct. 4, 2010, 3:12am

Y'know the greatest thing about this episode?
It made me remember how excited I was too the first time I got laid. I hadn't thought about that for years....13 yrs old, my Mom's younger friend that was babysitting me & my sister, she let me do it at least 3 times cause first time was premature ejaculation, I told all my friends & nearly anyone at school that would listen I was so excited, I almost got my Mom's friend in trouble but I saved the day by cleverly at the last minute lying about who she was & fooling anyone outraged at the possible implications of statutory rape. I became a man on that day so so long ago.
This Venture Brothers show, rates very high on my nostalgia factor. I just felt like sharing that, thanks for reading.
I had sex too!!!!111 Good writing Venture Brothers guys, good times! Oct. 4, 2010, 3:05am

Whoah back up. 13?
Were you ready? Did you get really WEIRD after that? Obsessive repercussions, and strange takes on females?
At age 15 I was still concerned with my barbarian were-elf DnD character. Age 16 was a little different. Age 19 I did something about it with a psycho. Oh ya, I get it, dames are nuts! (Not anymore fortunately).
Liked the episode's writing (Spillane much?), but didn't laugh until Hatred got into his eggs way too much. Chuckle there. Voice change helped. Surprised they didnt refer to Hatred as Sgt. Slob (Lee Marvin "Shack Out on 101"). Detectives carry whips. Oct. 4, 2010, 12:06pm

I totally called it! The kind of implied that Hank might lose his virginity in this episode.
Maybe Dr. Venture got Nikki pregnant while the boys' mother was already pregnant. If you remember from the "Quymn" episode, he says the last time he had sex was 19 years, 2 months, and 4 days ago. But in " Know Why the Cagebird Kills" Myra states, "Not in all your 19 years!" which implies that the boys were at least 19 years old at that point in the series. "Cagebird" was probably a few months to a year away from the "Quymn" episode. So when Dr. Venture said 19 years, 2 months, and 4 days he was talking about when he got Nikki pregnant because the boys have to be older than 19 years 4 months and 4 days. Their age (at least 19) including their time in womb would mean they're at least 20 years old at the time of the "Quymn" episode. Plus, Dermott has a full time job; which implies that he is atleast 18 and has (maybe?) graduated high school. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't though. Oct. 4, 2010, 3:32am

I think the real boys died when they were three, which is why Myra thought they were 19 and they thought they were 16. Since the clone grubs don't mature any faster than a normal person, the clones would always be three years younger. My gu8ess is that when Myra went insane when Doc popped up with the first set of clones of her three years dead sons.

Okay, no. It's summer so he can work full time and what his job requires of him, a highschooler can do. Plus, he's a compulsive liar. And of coarse the boys are way older than they um, are. They've been around for 19, 20 years probably, but their clones were like 16. And i try not to fuck around with those timelines too much. Firstly cause i'm aweful at math. Second, i don't trust i can believe very much of what comes out of Rusty's mouth.

Oh and whom do you think Dermott's Mom told him was his dad? This was not revealed in the previous season--JP and DH probably did not know themselves--but Dermott clearly tells Hank--who GOT LAID!--it was Brock.
Sooo . . . did Dermott's Mom tell him it was Brock or did she say it was Rusty and Dermontt was too embarrassed? Hmmmmm . . . Oct. 4, 2010, 4:18am

No problemo. Going by the commentary and other "stuff" from JP and DH it seems they had not decided "who" it would be. Heck, I suppose they could have chosen the Alchemist or something, but this was, obviously, funnier.
I believe Dean and Hank are suppose to be older--from the birth date on their burned IDs and Myra's rantings. I think Rusty is more bald in this episode in the flashback than he was when Mr. White and Billy visited him after the Quiz Boys failed--Rusty is holding the two infants whilst Myra goes berserk.
So . . . does he seem to care a bit more about Nikki because he remembers how much he screwed up with Myra--or whomever--is Dean and Hank's Real Mom?

The episode even has proof for this. If she was just some other girl, rusty would have abandoned her, and acted like he wasn't her father. But he actually wanted to help, her mom just knew it would do more harm than good, and we all know rusty has no sense when it comes to that.

It's feasible that he just hasn't seen Nikki since he knocked her up and even if he did, she seems to have grown out of loving him as a person (rather having loved his Rusty Boy Adventurer image) so it's possible that she wouldn't go out of her way for him to make the connection.
As for Dermott, it's safe to assume that Rusty's just too into himself to wonder anything more about Dermott than him being Hank's smartmouth friend. And on top of that Dermott doesn't hide the fact that he thinks Brock's his dad. Considering how many women Brock's slept with and the very real possibility that he has illegitimate children, what reason would Rusty have to argue (or care enough to argue)? Oct. 4, 2010, 9:26pm

guess I'm the only one who thought the ep was just 'good'? the post-credit stuff was phenomenal, and Hank's gibberish was funny like hell. but Al & Shoreleave? Rusty and a minor? could have used some more Orpheus. Great reveal nonetheless, really nice episode, pumped to see the "second part" of this ...

Right, but sticking with the 'two moms/brother-from-another-mother' theory...
..Dermott & Hank are the more athletic/goonish type, where as Dean is bookish - perfect reflections of their true mothers. And where Doc is genuinely freaked out by Myra, he obviously had some affection for the fan club president...which might contribute to why he favors Dean. Oct. 6, 2010, 12:33pm

In reference to the Everybody comes to Hank's capsules, I believe Billy said that Nikki had "Gams straight up to heaven" not "Damn, straight up to heaven" (gams, 30s & 40s slang for great looking legs, which Nikki had and would fit in with the style of speak they were going for) .
Also, I think Al said "She was on you like Sid on Nancy!" not "She was on you like Sit on Nancy!" (Sid referring to Sid Vicious and his girlfriend Nancy Spungen).
Other than those minor things, great capsules! Oct. 7, 2010, 7:25am

Sweet, I already corrected that first thing, but not the second. Thanks! Also you should post in the capsule article: http://mantiseye.com/news/everybody_comes_to_hanks_capsule (though I suppose you posted this before I put that up)
