The Original Venture Bros. News & Information Site

More Dragon-Con Coverage Demanded!

Or in specific, apparently a ton of people from People's Republuc of Venture were there, which is good because we get some news right from some fellow Venture-heads. The main page has a quick writeup and there's a thread with pictures and stuff as well, including a bitchin' Monarch doll. Check it out.

I Love Database Errors

Yes, still having database issues. The dude who runs the server doesn't have internet access at home right now since he just moved, but I do have the ability to restart the database stuff, however I was out all day yesterday after 4pm, so the site was probably down until this morning. Thanks for not complaining too much guys, you're all okay by me! It'll be fixed soon, I hope.

Downtime, What Downtime?

If you tried to get here yesterday you may have noticed the page was replaced by an error message or an error message with a note from me. Yay! The server was/is having some weird database problems that are hopefully going to be sorted soon. So don't worry your little heads! Also I am way behind on the Fallen Arches capsule and notes, but it will hopefully be up within a week. Also once again many thanks to everyone who has sent me e-mail with notes and corrections. I read them all but I don't always get to them for a variety of reasons, but some day I will. Some day.

Fallen Arches Discussion

Another Friday, another discussion! It's 6pm EST, which means Fallen Arches should now be up on Adult Swim Fix for your viewing pleasure. As is the custom you can use the comments to talk about the episode or anything else that strikes your fancy. For you folks who will wait for the TV version (either from necessity or by choice), it will air at the usual time of 10:30pm EST on Sunday. And as always, the comments will probably have spoilers, so if you don't want anything given away, don't read them just yet! Enjoy!

Dragon-Con Stuff (Updated)

As you may or may not know, Jackson and Doc will both be at Dragon-Con this year. It's in Atlanta, and I'm not quite sure how it's set up or if there are booths or something, but it's from September 1st through the 4th, so your best bet would be to just walk around for those four days dressed as the Monarch and just wait for them to find you. Aside from that, the always awesome provider of news and other tidbits HavocWare has pointed out a poster made by Doc Hammer which boasts a world premiere showing of the Venture Bros. (I assume it will be Fallen Arches, but that's just a guess) for those attending. Saturday, September 2nd at 10pm, if you must know. Be there or be some sort of shape with four equal sides and four right angles.

Update (8/31 5:15pm) - Ken Plume mentioned in the comments that the episode being shown is actually not Fallen Arches, but a brand new fresh episode that won't be on the air for a couple weeks. Also Jackson and Doc will be on a panel at 5:30pm on Friday and the 2:30pm Adult Swim panel on Saturday. So now you don't have to wander any more, hooray (you can still dress as the Monarch though)!

Help Me Help Myself

Ever want a life-sized HELPeR replica to take with you to various conventions? Or are you a VB fan but you don't want to look silly showing up to a convention with no friends dressed as Brock? Well, we have the solution to your problems! Our old friend HavocWare has been scouring eBay and came upon a life size HELPeR replica made out of cardboard. I'm not normally in the business of giving eBay auctions free publicity, but this is just too cool. Bidding starts at $10 and the auction ends September 4th!

We Love Lovelace

Douglas Lovelace sent me word that he's put up some season two storyboard artwork. Scenes from episodes that have aired along with a couple things I don't recognize. Very cool stuff; be sure to check it out.

In other news, Love-Bheits came in 3rd in the ratings last weekend with 402,000 viewers (males between 18 and 34), so season two continues to pull in pretty strong ratings even with the competitive timeslot. Always good news. I also have the capsule and screengrabs up for Love-Bheits, but no notes just yet because I am very lazy. Soon though!

Pretend To Be The Venture Brothers

If you're not familiar with woot.com, essentially it's a site that sells one thing per day (except in certain instances when they sell many things in a day, but only one thing at a time). It's usually a pretty good deal, and they sell mainly electronics and little gadgets. Why am I telling you this? Because today they are selling some Venture-like 2-way communicator wrist watches for only $20! They don't show video of who you're talking to, and they aren't colored the same as in the show, but still! Now you can emulate your favorite 2-way scenes from the show with your friends. You may want to skip the time when Dr. Venture gets his arm cut off though.

V.E.N. Capsule And Rate The Shows

First off I should mention that the V.E.N. capsule and notes have been up for a couple days now; I just forgot to update about it here (until now). I've been screwing around with some of the non-capsule content as well, so there are a couple additions/changes to the characters page and I've added skeleton capsules for the remaining episodes of season two (aside from the last one, which has not been named yet). I've also got a crapload of e-mail to get to, but I just want to thank everyone for all their info and insights, because there's no way I would have as comprehensive notes as I have without some of you guys. Rock on!

Nextly I added a quick feature to the capsules where you can rate each episode on a five-star level. So now we'll have some sort of weird Mantis-Eye ranking system for each episode. Just go over to any episode page and you'll see a little dropdown under the title of the episode. Select the vote you want and hit 'Rate' and you're done! You won't be able to see the show's current score until you vote, though I'll probably put up some kind of comparison chart in the near future. Enjoy, and let me know if anything breaks!

Oh yeah, no new episode this weekend. Sadness. After that there's two new ones, then another one week break, and then the final four episodes. See you guys in heck.

Love-Bheits Discussion

What's that? You guys are back? Okay I guess you can talk about Love-Bheits, which should be up on ASFix right about now. I'm actually writing this on Tuesday night since I'll be busy running around Manhattan all day and night on Friday and I figure I may as well get it out of the way. What's it like in the future, guys? I bet there are still spoilers, so stay out of the comments if you don't want to be spoiled. You guys are smart though, you can figure it out. Enjoy!

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
