Everyone's A Winner... Except You

Okay so I'm like an hour late, but whatever! The contest was pretty successful. There were around 70 entries with seventeen people answering all the questions correctly (and another seventeen with fourteen right). You can check the contest page to see the correct answers. Overall I think it went well, though next time I might make it a little easier or maybe fewer questions or something. We'll see!

Anyway, what you've been waiting for, the winner! Everyone congratulate Jeff Weis for getting all the answers right and being lucky enough to get picked as the random winner! Woo! So if you're Jeff, check your e-mail! And if you're not Jeff then better luck next time I guess.

Powerless in the Face of Death Discussion

I'm going to try this out for this episode to see how sucessful it is (I'm going to guess 'not very'), but in the comments of this update you can say whatever you want about Powerless in the Face of Death. You don't have to spoiler anything (putting text between o[ and ]o will make it a spoiler), so be warned IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE EPISODE YET DON'T ENTER THE COMMENTS. I updated the capsule page, though I won't have the capsule and notes up until next week sometime (hopefully sooner than later). It does have a partial cast list, but nothing really spoilerish, but you may want to steer clear if you're testy about spoilers anyway.

I won't say anything about the episode more than I thought it was all kinds of awesome.

Oh, and Jackson updated. I wish I went to Hawaii.

Assassinanny 911?

I have gotten several e-mails from various people (and I think someone mentioned it in the comments as well) that the third episode of season two will be titled 'Assassinanny 911'. Not that I don't believe you, but the only source I have been able to find with this info has been Wikipedia's VB episodes listing. Not that I don't trust Wikipedia (even though someone removed a link here as 'superfluous'), and it certainly sounds like a VB episode name, but I have no idea where they're getting their information, so I won't add it to the capsules just yet.

But I suppose for all intents and purposes episode sixteen is named Assassinanny 911, because I'm sure it's right.

Also there's still plenty of time to enter the season one DVD giveaway. The cutoff will be 10:00pm EST on Sunday, so if you haven't entered and want to, that's how much time you have left!

Also don't forget that the premiere will be up on Adult Swim Fix at 6pm EST tonight if you don't want to wait until Sunday. Later kids!

Edit (3:35pm) - Okay, I caved to peer pressure and added it to the capsules! I'm so weak.

All Dressed Up With Nowhere To Go

A couple people pointed out to me, and I had already noticed as well but neglected to mention it, but Adult Swim.com is all Venture'd out. The lead-in splash page is a screencap with an ominous caption that changes daily (there will be four of them and a fifth one that is the image Jackson posted many moons ago) and the main page is very decorative as well. There's also a clips section with a new clip added daily, though it looks like they will all be from season one.

AS isn't very good at hiding their stuff though, so I managed to ninja the upcoming two (tomorrow and Thursday I assume) splash page screenshots with little effort. If any legal types at Adult Swim read this page, this will probably make them angry, but what the hey? They know the drill.

Continuing Coverage

The name of the second episode of the season has been revealed to be Hate Floats which is an awesome title if I say so myself. No preview paragraphs are up or anything at all (I assume in order to keep the fate of Hank & Dean secret), but we're now exactly a week from season two! It's been a long, strange trip.

Meanwhile, John McNaughton came through in the clutch again by telling me about this interview with Jackson on Newsarama. It has a little bit of misinformation (his name is Pete White, not James White) but overall it's an interesting interview.

Meanwhile the ever-present Havocware sent along this auction which is for a Monarch custom-made action figure. Pretty quality, but it only sold for $7. I guess we have to suffer for our art. That's all for today, kids! If you can, don't forget to give your dad a hug!

See Powerless in the Face of Death Early!

As has been the custom, AS shows debuts of their original shows on Adult Swim Fix on Fridays, and Venture Bros. is no exception. So even though season two doesn't officially air until June 25th, you can watch Powerless in the Face of Death on June 23rd between 6pm and 6am EST on the good old internet.

So there you go, even though the counter says 9 days, it's really kind of like 7 days! If you're busy Friday night or you don't have high speed internet then you can still catch it Sunday night at 10:30pm of course.

Season Two Airing/Production Order

John McNaughton was nice enough to point out that AS has started posting some names of VB's upcoming episodes. I also did some snooping and found this on AS.com which is a rough schedule of the upcoming months. Of course the production numbers have changed from their three number format to two numbers (so instead of 201 you have 14, as in the 14th produced episode). The episodes will air in the order: 20, 19, 16, 18 and then apparently on July 22nd and 29th episodes 20 and 19 will reair. Then 17, 22, 14 followed by another rerun of 16, followed by 15, 21, a rerun of 18, then 23, 24, 25 and 26 to round out the season on October 15th. The premier on the 24th will also be preceded by the season one finale, so you get an hour of Venture. After that the lead-in is Futurama.

The name of the premier episode has also been revealed on AS's unused but still updated schedule as Powerless in the Face of Death. Spooky. Nothing more to say on that right now, but hopefully more episode names will be revealed soon.

Season One DVD Giveaway!

Too poor to afford Venture Bros. season one on DVD? Too lazy to go out to the store to buy a copy? Too busy to buy it?! Just flat-out don't own it yet? Already have a copy but need a second one in case something happens to the first? Well then this is the place for you!

Click that link and you could win a brand new, unopened Venture Bros. season one DVD set! All you have to do is answer fifteen Venture-related questions (all of which can be answered by poking around this site) and you'll be entered in a random drawing on June 25th. Check the contest for the rules and stuff, and good luck!

Season Two Schedule Finalized

Thanks to Turner inside man, livingfruitvirus, for pointing out that season two (which starts June 25th), will air Sundays at 10:30pm (EST of course), with an encore Thursdays at midnight. So if you're keeping up new episodes will air from June 25th until September 17th. Lead-in on Sundays is normally either Futurama or Family Guy, both of which get very strong numbers, which is good news for the show that follows them.

As for the DVD, it's currently number six on Amazon, after a long stay at #3, so it's had very strong sales, which is of course great news since potential DVD sales always come into play when you're thinking about, for example, if or not you should greenlight a third season. Oh and don't forget, VB isn't airing tomorrow, but be sure to check out the Korgoth pilot in VB's normal timeslot. I caught it on FNF last night and it was totally over the top in a good way. Most of you guys will probably enjoy it.

The Saga Continues

I never imagined I'd write so many updates in such a short timespan, but then I forgot I had almost daily updates even after season one ended, so I guess five updates in two days is okay.

Anyway, I forgot to mention that Jackson updated with an original image of the DVD insert art as well as a screenshot of VB reaching #1 on Amazon.com. It's down to #3 right now, but it's quite awesome that it made it to #1 earlier. I'm starting to believe that the ratings for season two are going to be insane. An explosion of viewers, if you will.

Secondly, Mr. McCulloch did an interview with SuicideGirls (the page is fairly work safe, if not pink) that you might want to check out. I added that to the interviews section of the articles page.

Also for all you late comers and cheap bastards, I will be having a DVD giveaway contest, as soon as I come up with a contest, that is. Hopefully within the next week or two.

Finally, Venture Bros. will not be airing this week. The pilot of Korgoth of Barbaria will play at 10:30pm on Sunday and then the following week VB will take that timeslot. I believe season two will have either the 10:30pm or 11:30pm Sunday timeslot.

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
