Help Me Help Myself

Ever want a life-sized HELPeR replica to take with you to various conventions? Or are you a VB fan but you don't want to look silly showing up to a convention with no friends dressed as Brock? Well, we have the solution to your problems! Our old friend HavocWare has been scouring eBay and came upon a life size HELPeR replica made out of cardboard. I'm not normally in the business of giving eBay auctions free publicity, but this is just too cool. Bidding starts at $10 and the auction ends September 4th!

I can't believe someone actually made a H.E.L.P.eR. I guess some people have A LOT of free time on their hands. But I can tell you it's harder to make a bubble suit (yes, from bubble wrap) for Halloween so that you can look like a Zoltan cult member (& a total jack@ss, but I didn't care, it was fun) from "Dude, Where's My Car".

Yep, I really made a bubble suit, & no it's not for sale, but I'd be happy to make another one & sell IT on Ebay. Anyone?

For a cardboard HELPeR, it's not bad, but it's a bit thin. I've seen some pictures of a group at a comic convention that had a better looking cardboard HELPeR.

Doesn't he have 4 wheels to roll around on, instead of 5?

Foo, you should make your own for the $40 (at least) it's going to cost you with shipping.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's pretty funny.
But, throw in some dc motors, servos and and a cheap transceiver, and you could have it move, turn, raise arms, etc.

Toss in a little sound module and you could have it dump mp3/wavs of real SoulBot beeps and clicks too...

Hrm. I think I might just make me a HELPeR...

That presupposes that I have the time and interest in spending hours making a cardboard robot (cuz I don't). But for a couple of twenties, its good fun. I bill more an hour than that robot is going to cost me, assuming I win the auction, so its really not worth my time to spend the hours it would take to make one myself. Same reason I pay $8 for a hamburger at a restaurant instead of staying home and making one much cheaper myself :-)

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
