Cast of Characters

This is simply a compilation of major recurring characters and main characters in the show. Anyone who has played a fairly major role (or has the potential to) will probably be listed here. Though really, a character being here pretty much depends entirely on what I think. However, if you think there's someone missing feel free to drop me a line. I'll be updating these to be fairly current, but as to avoid spoilers I'll probably wait a few weeks before I update anyone with brand new info. Just be wary if you haven't watched all the episodes.

Team Venture

Dean
Name: Dean Venture
Aliases: None known
Occupation: Boy adventurer
Age: 18 16
Dean is the more timid and cautious of the two brothers, but also probably smarter than Hank. Dean is pretty quick to get upset, and seems to shelter himself from the reality he constantly faces as some sort of subconscious defense mechanism. Dean also seems more attached to his father than Hank, though the feelings are not returned by Dr. Venture very often. Dean also has a crush on Triana, the daughter of their tenant, Dr. Orpheus. Voiced by Michael Sinterniklaas.

Hank
Name: Henry Allen Venture
Aliases: Hank
Occupation: Boy adventurer
Age: 18 16
Hank is stronger than Dean and usually gets the best of him in fights. He's also more outgoing and less nervous than Dean, but probably not as book smart (though neither boy is overly street smart). Hank also seems to enjoy hanging out with Brock and the two share an almost father-son bond, though Brock is never hesitant to tell Hank that he can and will kill him. Neither of the boys go to school, but instead have beds that teach their brains outdated information while they sleep. Voiced by Chris McCulloch.

Dr. Venture
Name: Dr. Thaddeus S. Venture
Aliases: 'Rusty' Venture, 'Doc'
Occupation: Super scientist, inventor
Age: 43
Dr. Venture is the son of the late, great Dr. Jonas Venture, acclaimed scientist and adventurer. His childhood years were spent crawling through holes and running from monsters, causing him to become the shell of a man he is today. Unlike his father, most of his own experiments either have little application in the real world or simply don't work. Thusly, Venture Industries has been faltering and Dr. Venture is often strapped for cash, forcing him to sell his father's old equipment and inventions as well as rent out a portion of his lab. Voiced by James Urbaniak.

Brock
Name: Brock Samson
Aliases: Classified
Occupation: OSI Agent, Bodyguard. Currently assigned to "Operation Rusty's Blanket"
Age: Most likely in his late 30s
Bodyguard to Dr. Venture and the boys, Brock was coincidentally Dr. Venture's college roommate when he was a freshman and Doc was a senior (or possibly grad student). After he was kicked out of school for accidentally killing a teammate during practice (and subsequently getting drunk and beating up Dr. Venture and his friends), Brock joined the marines and eventually was assigned to the Office of Secret Intelligence, the OSI. Why exactly he has been assigned to Dr. Venture (under the codename 'Operation Rusty's Blanket') remains a mystery, but Brock does his job, and does it well. He protects Dr. Venture and the boys from danger with extreme prejudice and extreme violence, all while refusing to use firearms (his weapon of choice is a large combat knife he keeps on him at all times). Voiced by Patrick Warburton.

HELPeR
Name: H.E.L.P.eR.
Aliases: None known
Occupation: Companion, servant, babysitter and defender to the Venture family
Age: Unknown, but probably older than Rusty
HELPeR, which stands for 'Humanoid Electric Lab Partner Robot' (the e is added in for convenience) is a member of the original Team Venture and was passed down to Rusty after the death of his father. HELPeR was originally a valuable asset to the first Team Venture on their missions, but has been reduced to babysitter duty thanks to Dr. Venture's less than apt use of his father's equipment and inventions (as well as his inability to take care of the boys). HELPeR has a variety of abilities and add-ons including various tools, hacking ability, artillery and he can even fly the X-1 (however he cannot drive a manual car). Voiced by Soul-Bot.

Friends of Venture

Dr. Orpheus
Name: Dr. Byron Orpheus
Aliases: Dr. O
Occupation: Necromancer, single father
Age: Unknown
Dr. Orpheus is the over-dramatic necromancer that lives in a spare lab-turned-study that Dr. Venture decided to rent out. Dr. Orpheus is pretty powerful as far as powers go, appearing to have a large range of magics at his disposal including various spells, some mind control, exercising (and communicating with) ghosts, teleportation when necessary, and fancier stuff like flames from his hands and various types of fireball projectiles. For a while Dr. O could not find an arch-nemesis, however this problem was alleviated when he reassembled his old team (the Alchemist and Jefferson Twilight) to reform The Order of the Triad who held arch-villain tryouts with varying degrees of success. He is also a single father to a daughter who he seems to be very loving and understanding towards even though she may stay out all night partying and possibly partaking in some form of illicit substance. Dr. Orpheus seems perhaps intentionally oblivious to these events. Voiced by Stephen Ratazzi.

Triana
Name: Triana Orpheus
Aliases: None known
Occupation: Student, former employee of Hank-Co
Age: Probably between 16 and 18
Triana is, as mentioned, the daughter of Dr. Orpheus. It seems fitting that she has adopted a goth lifestyle, or at the very least a goth look and deadpan delivery, with her father being a necromancer. Triana's mother apparently ran off with a younger necromancer a few years ago, but Triana still holds onto her parents getting back together. Triana is lovingly referred to by her father as 'Pumpkin'. Her best friend is Kim, who shares Triana's penchant for goth clothing and general amusement bordering on disdain for the Venture brothers. Voiced by Lisa Hammer.

Mr. White
Name: Mr. Peter White
Aliases: Pete, The Ever-Popular Peter White
Occupation: Aspiring super scientist/arch rival/DJ, computer technician
Age: Probably around Dr. Venture's age, if not slightly younger
Mr. White, who is a computer technician, went to college with Dr. Venture where he was the DJ for the school radio station. He's also business partners with Billy Quizboy, and are currently looking for an arch-nemesis. Mr. White, in an unfortunate coincidence, is an albino, so he can probably be killed with light, though he doesn't seem to have too many problems being outside as long as he's got his umbrella with him. Voiced by Chris McCulloch.

Billy Quizboy
Name: Master Billy Quizboy
Aliases: Billy
Occupation: Surgeon, boy genius
Age: Mid-40s
Billy Quizboy, while he claims to be a child genius, is actually in his 40's. He's also hydrocephalic which accounts for the weird water sloshing sounds sometimes heard when he moves his head (these are mostly absent in later episodes). This, perhaps, accounts for Billy's high IQ and his huge head. Billy has also performed various surgeries throughout the course of the show, including de-torsioning Dean's testicles and reattaching Dr. Venture's severed arm. Billy also apparently has some past involvement with Phantom Limb before he became evil, though the extent of it is not entirely known yet. Voiced by Doc Hammer.

Jonas Venture Jr.
Name: Dr. Jonas Venture, Jr.
Aliases: J.J., Jonas Jr.
Occupation: Super scientist, adventurer
Age: 43
Jonas Jr., who named himself after the father he never knew, is the twin brother of Rusty Venture. Jonas was absorbed by Rusty in the womb and lived inside Rusty's body for 43 years before he was finally removed after being mistaken for a tumor. Once out, he attempted to exact his revenge upon Dr. Venture, but failed, and now they've made up, though Rusty doesn't like him very much. J.J. currently resides on Spider-Skull Island (given to him by Dr. Venture as a peace offering) and is actually quite good at the whole super-scientist thing. J.J. is also apparently making up for lost time (and perhaps following in his father's footsteps) as he appears to bed many different and attractive women on a fairly regular basis. Voiced by James Urbaniak.

Molotov Cocktease
Name: Molotov Cocktease
Aliases: None known
Occupation: Assassin, mercenary
Age: Unknown, but likely early-mid 30s
Molotov is described by Brock as 'the only woman [he] ever loved'. Deadly and sexy, Molotov certainly lives up to her last name. A Russian (former Soviet) mercenary by trade, Molotov is for hire by whoever is willing to pay, and lets nobody get in the way, including past loves. Brock and she have met a variety of times, and their violent battles often end in lustful kisses (or, sometimes, lustful kisses end up as battles). However, Molotov wears some sort of Soviet chastity belt and thusly (much to the chagrin of Brock) cannot go past second base. Voiced by Mia Barron.

The Original Team Venture

Jonas Venture
Name: Dr. Jonas Venture, Sr.
Aliases: None known
Occupation: Super scientist, inventor, adventurer
Age: Deceased, but would be around 70 - 75
Acclaimed scientist, adventurer, hero and all around nice guy, Jonas Venture is the famous father of Dr. Venture. Jonas Venture was the leader of the original Team Venture and the major reason his son did not age so well. Young Rusty often accompanied his father on adventures, usually ending up kidnapped or crawling through a hole. Jonas Venture died when Dr. Venture was in college, though the cause of his death has never been cited. After his death, Team Venture disbanded and Rusty inherited Venture Industries. Voiced by Paul Boocock.

Col. Gentleman
Name: Colonel Horace Gentleman
Aliases: None known
Occupation: Adventurer, retired from the RAF
Age: Recently deceased at age of 75 or so
A former member of Team Venture and retired Royal Air Force (RAF) officer/spy, Col. Gentleman lived out his golden years in Tangier with a 'bronzed man-child named Kiki'. Gentleman was probably second in command of the first Team Venture, but little is known about his character or abilities aside from that. He went somewhat crazy in his old age, filling his journal with strange lists such as modern toys he wished he had when he was a boy. He passed away before the events of Twenty Years to Midnight. Voiced by Chris McCulloch.

Kano
Name: Kano
Aliases: None known
Occupation: Adventurer, martial arts expert
Age: Probably in his 60s or 70s
Kano is the martial arts master of the original Team. Kano is a huge mountain of man who is very strong but also very delicate as he will often practice the paper-folding art of origami. Kano does not speak and usually communicates via his folded papercraft. Kano's first appearence was during the flashback at the beginning of Ghosts of the Sargasso, but he later appeared in Past Tense in a more prominent role.

The Action Man
Name: The Action Man
Aliases: Rodney (first name, last name unknown)
Occupation: Adventurer, super soldier
Age: Probably in his mid-70s
The Action Man is probably some sort of government-funded super soldier, similar to Captain America, the Action Man is all-American and ready to kick some butt. He was good friends with Major Tom who was tragically killed when an experimental flying saucer made by Dr. Jonas Venture crashed into the ocean. He later married Tom's widow and they both live out their retirement in Boca Raton, Florida. He will also apparently die of a stroke, as predicted by Dr. Orpheus. Not much else is known about the Action Man. Voiced by Chris McCulloch.

Otto Aquarius
Name: Otto Aquarius
Aliases: None known
Occupation: Adventurer, Jehovah's Witness
Age: Unknown, but potentially as old as 140
Otto is actually half-Atlantean, as you can probably see. That means that a drunken sailor had their way with his mer-mother, but that's a story for another time. Because of Otto's Atlantean blood he doesn't age as fast as humans and he can probably breath underwater and also swim fast, but I could also be making that up. Otto converted to the Jehovah's Witness religion and spends his time going door to door trying to convert people to the way of the Lord. Oddly enough in New York City people are not freaked out by a weird fish-man knocking on their door, but rather they wait to hear what he has to say before slamming the door. Nobody likes Jehovah's Witnesses. Voiced by T. Ryder Smith.

Enemies of Venture

The Monarch
Name: Unknown
Aliases: The Monarch
Occupation: Arch-villian
Age: Probably late 30s
The Monarch is the most vocal and dramatic enemy of Dr. Venture, though not necessarily the most deadly or able. His sole purpose in life currently seems to be to make Dr. Venture's life as difficult as possible, though his reasons for this goal don't appear to exist ("He's my nemesis... you know."). The Monarch also went to the same college as Dr. Venture though they didn't appear to know each other. When he was a boy his parent's private jet crashed in New Jersey with him being the sole survivor. He was raised by monarch butterflies for a few months, surviving on a diet mainly of milkweed and eventually became the Monarch we know and love. Voiced by Chris McCulloch.

Dr. Girlfriend
Name: Shiela (last name unknown)
Aliases: Dr. Girlfriend, Queen Atheria
Occupation: Arch-villian second in command
Age: Unknown, but likely early 30s
Dr. Girlfriend seems to have a varied history as a super-villain, arching various heroes and number two'ing for a few different villains, most recently the Phantom Limb and the Monarch (both of whom she also dated). In the case of the Monarch she generally seemed to be the brains of the operation (the person who made everything work), whereas at Phantom Limb's side she was more of a trophy. Her sexuality is sometimes called into question due to her unnaturally (and disturbingly) deep voice, though Phantom Limb and the Monarch both maintain she is all woman. Voiced by Doc Hammer.

Henchmen 24 and 21
Names: Gary (21). 24's real name is not known
Aliases: 24 and 21, Jet Boy and Jet Girl
Occupation: Arch-villian second in command
Age: Hard to say, probably last 20s for 21 and early 30s for 24
Ahh, the Monarch's loyal henchmen. From the myriad of henchmen in season one, these two are the only ones to stick around after the Monarch was incarcerated. They are somewhat bumbling, but their hearts are in the right places, and they will do anything to please the Monarch. 21 is the fat one and was kidnapped by the Monarch when he was 15. 24 is the skinny one and sounds kind of like Ray Romano, but looks like Jerry Seinfeld. Voiced by Chris McCulloch (24) and Doc Hammer (21).

Baron Underbheit
Name: Baron Verner von Ünderbheit
Aliases: None known
Occupation: Former ruler of Ünderland
Age: Roughly the same as Dr. Venture
The good Baron used to rule the kingdom of Ünderland, which is located somewhere on the border (possibly entirely within) Michigan. He commanded has his own army and ruled with an oppressive and iron fist (and jaw). However his government was overthrown by some rivals he attempted to kill when they found out he had married a 16-year old boy who he mistook for a young woman. His metal jaw was installed after an apparent accident involving Dr. Venture and a science experiment (they were lab partners in college), which is the major, and possibly only, reason he wants Dr. Venture destroyed. Often at Ünderbheit's side is his ever-faithful 'Manservant' who was gifted to him in college. Voiced by T. Ryder Smith.

The Phantom Limb
Name: Hamilton G. Fantomas
Aliases: The Phantom Limb
Occupation: Arch-villain, former high ranking Guild official
Age: Unknown, probably in his 40s. Possibly deceased.
Phantom Limb is not an enemy of Dr. Venture directly, but a high-ranking member in the Guild of Calamitous Intent. Dr. Girlfriend was his number two in the past (before she met the Monarch) and breifly during the events of season two before she got back together with the Monarch. However he forcefully attempted to cease control of the Guild, resulting in his untimley but also unconfirmed death. I should also mention that he does not have any visible arms or legs due to an unfortunate lab accident back before he became a super-villain (possibly involving Billy Quizboy). He also has some sort of weird death hands power which allows him to grab people and kill them with minimal effort. Voiced by James Urbaniak.
