Venture Bros. Halloween Special Coming In October 2012

While Adult Swim's Upfront announcement mostly contained info about non-Venture Bros. specials, pilots and renewals (including SuperJail!'s third season being formally announced), there was one bit of pertinent info on the Venture Bros. Halloween special, which is that it will be airing this year in October:

VENTURE BROTHERS HALLOWEEN SPECIAL -- This October on Adult Swim, the Venture Family fills your Halloween goody bag with fun-sized Truth. Created and directed by Jackson Publick and written by Publick and Doc Hammer, both of whom also provide voices for the special, the Venture Brothers Halloween Special is being animated by Titmouse, Inc.

So just when you thought we would go all of 2012 without a Venture Bros. episode, fear not! No other info was provided but I'm sure we'll find out more in the coming months.
SWEET! SOMETHING SOONER THAN JANUARY! AND IM ALSO VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE MORAL OREL SPECIAL
AND CHINA IL GOT RENEWED WHICH IS ALSO GREAT.
THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THIS GREAT NEWS

But did you see the Aqua Teens are getting a baby!

LOL, there's a picture of Pepe on the link below.

I can imagine it now:

Shake: We need some pepper for this famous chili I'm making.. why, hello there.. little baby pepper.

Yeah....the likelihood that that press release concept lasts longer than 1 episode is pretty low. This is, after all, the ATHF writers making a press release.

Really b/c everyone thought it was a lie when they changed the name the last time.. and that lasted a whole season.

I do agree though.. the baby will last for a little while (few eps) and then be murdered along with the rest of the Squad and never return.. or will they!?!?!

No.. no they won't... until next year!

Indeed, great news! I was just wondering to myself last week whether the Halloween special the creators mentioned at one of the Con forums was going to happen, and if it would happen this year. Not super-excited about the Titmouse animation, but it's more important that we get more VB!

I love V Bros. but these 11 minute Titmouse (flash looks better) specials are kinda lame... it's b/c of the in house animation and short run time.. it looks and comes off as another throw away cheesey AS filler cartoon.

If these epiosdes aren't good enough to be animated in full and at full length running time.. why bother making it?

All I know is Jackson argued with CN at first to get the full half-hour timeslot for the show and to not use cheap animation like flash.. i.e. just like Harvey Birdman.. anyway he got his wishes and the shows been awesome ever since.

The most frightening thing in this special will be the animation... it should be live action.. then at least that would have been interesting to see.

Seriously... kinda lame news.

I as well, am more excited about a baby pepper being added to an old show.. than a Titmouse V. BROS Halloween Special.

Oh and new Boondocks season four looks good.. it at least respects itself enough not to make crappy 11 minute specials.

Titmouse should really just stick with shows like Superjail! to animate.

The Halloween special isn't 11 minutes. It's a full-length episode. And it's not animated in Flash or in-house. It's traditionally animated, like the rest of the season will be.

Honestly.. how can it not be better than the last special.

The animation might be better... maybe Titmouse will try harder.. I doubt it... but we will see.

The animation and frame rates are seriously off at Titmouse... I don't like it when my favorite show suddenly looks crappy after all these years of looking great.

Sure, Korea makes a bunch of weird boo-boo's; but that's what re-takes are for... and the animation looks so much better and lucid in the end.

You don't know how much that means to me... I'm fine with Titmouse doing the storyboards and pre-production.

Just please.. no more New York animation form Titmouse.. the bottom line with me was that "Ladle" looked like a totally different show.

Jackson won't admit it b/c he is a gentleman and denies it... but V Bros. really is the best animated T.V. show airing currently.

It deserves not only a giant network sized budget and a huge amount of respect; it deserves the best of all things.

Here's to season five... thank you Doc and Jackson in advance.

Love,
Me.

I am looking forward to this a great deal. This would be the first even numbered year since 2004 that we have not had either a full or partial season of Venture Bros.

And yes, the animation done in Flash at Titmouse may look a bit different than what we are used to and I agree it does not look as good. But it is important to remember that A) we don't have to worry about that for the full season and B) even if we did, I would rather pay that price for the awesomeness that we get than to have no more show.

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
