One other unresolved question: Phantom Limb...what's his deal?
Did being dismembered cause him to flip out and actually think that Manotaur stole Queen Etheria from him?
Why was he hiding the Monarch's illegal arching from the Guild all those years?
And why haven't the Diamond Dogs taken him down permanently? Aug. 31, 2008, 10:18pm

Maybe I missed it but the cliffhanger from last season was never addressed. The Monarch and Dr Girlfriend are in their honeymoon bed when she has something to tell him. (Remember?) I think we all assumed she told him she was pregnant. (Suggesting a juicy plot line of finding out who the daddy is: Monarch or Phantom Limb?) That cliffhanger seemed to have vaporized.
I do have one theory of what that revelation was. Maybe Dr. Girlfriend announced she had VD? (Chlamydia specifically) In "Tears of a Sea Cow" The Monarch is caught by Dean infecting G.U.A.R.D.O. Sep. 1, 2008, 5:00am

She told him, in some capacity, that he was in trouble with the Guild, and possibly that she was turning him over to them. Hence the present-day events of Shadowman 9. The question was answered, but indirectly.
Also, chlamydia will often rot out the womb of a female so that she cannot bear children. If The Monarch has it then so does she. It's symptomless, though, usually...so I wonder if he even told her... Sep. 1, 2008, 6:34am

Yeah I think her "Monarch, I'm..." line was probably along the lines of "I'm signing us up for duoship" which would make them equal partners in arching rather than her being his number two. That or "I'm making this official" or something similar. All the speculation never lived up to the real question, which I guess was the point.

Speaking of Shadowman 9, there is one peice of trivia that needs to be added: At the close as the henchmen storm the Lair of The Phantom, The Monarch's command to kill them all echo's the supposed quote from this guy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnold_Amalricus

Did anyone else catch the Nazi reference made by The Monarch when he is talking about his suit? He mentions it being the "Death's Head" suit, and saying it is "the final solution...". A little history lesson (that everyone probably already knows). The Death's Head was a division of the SS during WWII. They were identified by a skull on the front of their hats and initially worked in the concentration camps. As for "the final solution". This was basically The Holocaust. It was Hitler's answer to "the Jewish question". A little extreme for the VBs?

Yeah, "The Final Solution in tailoring" was my favorite line of the episode. It worked on two levels...it means it's both the ultimate tailoring job and the Holocaust in suit form. Very funny stuff.
Not sure I'd call it "extreme" for Venture Bros...I've definitely heard more extreme Holocaust jokes than that on network TV! Sep. 1, 2008, 6:36am

what do you think the venture/monarch original problem was? why is he so pissed off at doc v? i think it's because rusty taped over monarchs foetus over frisco, gary numan, neu, no wave & mi sex cassettes with some Yes (or ysa as the poster says in the college dorm room) live recording featuring guests ken russel, ELP, kurt russel, pinky lee, ma kettle and snuffy smith that came out on a ltd 6 lp box set rarity. impudent child superstar with illusions of granduer (insert roger dean fantasy Yes live show stage clip with dragonfly laser).
also watching cremation creek 1 again=the guy walking out of the engine room that dean is about to go into, he is a direct brother clone wannabe of 24 with the chin and ready to flame, flying future head. watch! Sep. 1, 2008, 6:57pm

The Monarch/Venture problem stems from college jack-assery.
The Monarch perfected cloning via "clone slugs" while in college, but that dick "Rusty" Venture stole his work and claimed credit for it. Henchman 24 is a clone - ever notice that most of the Monarch's henchmen look and sound just like 24?
Also, the Monarch had a total thing for Leslie Cohen, and - like the late Mike Sorayama - he mistakenly believes that Rusty somehow managed to nail said Leslie Cohen just before leaving college. The fact that Leslie Cohen grew up to be Dr. Mrs. The Monarch doesn't help things, either! Sep. 4, 2008, 2:58pm
