ORB Commentary
Head over to Adult Swim's site to check out another in-season commentary from Jackson and Doc for ORB. I haven't finished listening to it yet, but I'm sure it's highly insightful or possibly meandering and hilarious. Either way you're in for a treat!

I for one am glad that Doc was able to stand up and say what we were all thinking: Oscar Wilde isn't all that great. It does me proud to know someone isn't afraid to stand up to Big Oscar.
A few more thoughts: these commentaries, I think, are video of the audio commentaries that'll be on the DVD. Also, I am amazed at how they predicted so many of our comments. The commentary was recorded before the premiere party and yet they knew.
Oh, also I've been away the last few days. Good to be back. Aug. 13, 2008, 4:44am

I don't think these are the same commentaries we'll get on the DVD. For starters you'll notice that Jackson stops the episode so that they can speak without the episode continuing. On an audio commentary, normally, the episode and audio run concurrently.
More likely these were shot specifically to serve as Adult Swim exclusives, which happened with a few other shows as well.
Also, on the livejournal Jackson mentioned that the would be recording the commentaries soon...but THESE specific ones were obviously recorded already. Leads me to believe they'll be separate.
As always, though, we'll see! Aug. 13, 2008, 5:33am

Aw, come on. I like Oscar Wilde. I don't think he invented cool. But I like his work. I could give two shits if he wasn't the first person to start immersing himself in popular culture and shopping. The Picture of Dorian Gray is a damn fine book. And The Importance of Being Earnest is a classic. A CLASSIC. Bah.

Perhaps if Doc remembered to write Hank and Dean more often, he'd also remember to put in more "Go Team Venture!"s.
Speaking of missing catch phrases, I wonder why "No way!" seems to have fallen out of favor. IIRC, there was at least one in every first season episode, but I haven't caught many this season. Aug. 13, 2008, 11:19pm

Slightly off topic, but:
Was anybody else convinced that Bowie was going to be Tesla in the Gramophone Flashbacks?
I know it woulda' been a little cheesey, but since he did play Tesla in "the prestige" and since Doc and Jackson are such HUGE fans of Bowie. I thought it would have been really funny and awsome.
Thats all. Aug. 14, 2008, 10:06am
