Oh, You Want More Venture Bros?

Oh, You Want More Venture Bros?
Well I got your Venture Bros. right here. Or specifically Jackson does. To summarize:
  1. Two more seasons of the show (I assume thirteen episodes per).
  2. Pre-production (hopefully) begins in June.
  3. Along with that a long-form (60 - 90 minutes) episode/special/movie/something is in the contract.
  4. An 11-minute short episode that will premiere sometime in the summer.
So what does this all mean? Well, details are slightly sketchy because it's too early to fully know everything but based on this info season five would start at earliest in the beginning of 2012, but more likely we are looking at spring 2012. The long-form episode (which could end up something like Robot Chicken's Star Wars specials) is probably very far off in the future and season six would likely come with a gap similar to the one between season three and four. This is all speculation of course, we'll just have to stay tuned!

I'm glad AS orders seasons in twos now. Nice to know I'll have my Venture Fix for at least a few more years.

Most exciting tidbit: 60-90 minute Venture Special!

Didn't Jackson and Doc specifically say they'd never attempt anything like the Robot Chicken Star Wars special in the S4v1 commentaries? Or...somewhere?

I swear to goodness I remember them disavowing the concept.

And, frankly, I'm glad. The less The Venture Bros. follows Robot Chicken's lead, the better.

I don't recall that but I was more talking about how it was shown on TV as a special (and not just an episode of Robot Chicken) and then released on its own on DVD later on. I doubt they would attempt such a direct parody since that would be kind of out-of-character for the show, whereas it's the main premise of Robot Chicken.

They have pretty much said that they won't ever do it again because it was an absurd amount of work and kind of killed them when they were still in the midst of working on the actual show. So I guess everyone is stuck with buying less exciting shirts from Adult Swim's shop or Nonsek.

I was just thinking that two more seasons of Venture Brothers probably translates to about four more years which is even more exciting. Those long, lonely periods in between new episodes may be tough, but it's better than a whole lifetime without new episodes.

I'm probably most excited about the short form episode. I'm thinking it won't be about the Venture Family or a traditional episode at all and instead about the history of the Guild or just about HeLPeR or something else odd that would only fill up 11 minutes. I suppose it could also be that Robot Chicken crossover they've been teasing but that would excite me a whole lot less.

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
