A Brief Word On Episode Guides
With season six imminently upon us I feel the need to mention a few things. A lot of you have noticed that the episode guide for "All This And Gargantua-2" still hasn't been written. Unfortunately it's likely to stay that way. I started this site back in 2004 because I wanted to contribute, in whatever way I could, to knowledge and awareness of what I thought was a really great show. Here we are now, almost twelve (twelve!) years later and the show is still going strong and has a bigger following than ever. What was once a funny parody of Jonny Quest has now grown into something so much more. It's been amazing to see.
Sadly those twelve years have perhaps finally caught up with me. I started this site when I was twenty-two years old. I was a senior in college. Now I'm thirty-four, and while I still absolutely love Venture Bros. and am as excited as anybody for the new season, my devotion to this site has obviously dropped off. It's time to admit that I've written my last episode capsule. It's just not something I enjoy a huge amount any more, and I've got other projects I would rather work on.
Apologies to anyone who liked reading them, or anyone who was expecting more of them in the future. For the last year I've heard from a number of people asking where the "Gargantua-2" capsule and notes are, so I'm sorry for not saying this sooner. I thought maybe I could eventually make myself write it, but it just never happened.
The rest of the site will continue on as normal. I'll still post news and info about the show, and the weekly discussion threads will also continue. Even the normal episode pages will continue to exist, including their collection of screencaps (something I still enjoy making).
Feel free to sound off in the comments, as always. I'll definitely read and consider any input and suggestions you may have. If you're shy and prefer to message me privately you can also use the contact form as always. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for everything Mike! The site still rocks and will continue to.
Unfortunately, as time marches forward I can't imagine there will be numerous more seasons of V Bros. due to the production schedule mostly.
I guess everyone else could contribute to the episode capsules and write them. We can all probably help... if you'd like. We could make them easy to edit going forward. And we could uplosd a few screen grabs too Jan. 25, 2016, 11:02pm

I'm sad to hear Mike's last episode guide has been written; although I completely understand why (time always changes our priorities). The Capsule and Notes has always been one of my favorite parts of this website. The Notes section particularly have elevated my enjoyment of The Venture Bros. show since most of the references are over my head (mostly due to my disinterest in most popular music and musicians) or provide me relief when I know the reference made in the show but can't seem to find it (the Note section always has it logged for me...eventually). I'm not sure if someone else could help Mike with this part of the website, but I know it just wouldn't be the same since I'm use to reading Mike's writing.
Speaking of the website....how about the web design by Mike! Such a well put together site that had elements that (I thought) were ahead of the internet curve for years. Very well assembled. We love the world you have built here, Mike, we all just live in it.
I'm very glad to read that the news will continue to be updated. I understand that I cannot expect much more these days, Mike has spoiled us over the dedicated years with the website, constant news, interviews of Jackson & Doc, games, contests, give-aways, April fools jokes, Episode Guides, updates on VB T.V. schedules, updates on VB products, links to information from Jackson & Doc, etc. etc. etc. Mike has been a big part in building the VB community and will continue in the role even if no more VB Episode Guides are coming.
We are on the verge of another Venture Bros. season! WAAAAAAHOOOO! Still my favorite show on television, and for good reason. Jan. 26, 2016, 12:13am

thanks for running this site, Mike. It was cool to read this post and realize how long this show has been going and think back to the first time I got completely obsessed with the venture bros. Things have changed quite a bit for me as well since then. Totally stoked for the new season and the discussions here when I can get around to them.

I echo many others' sentiments- I will miss the guides but I understand where this is coming from. The episode discussions tend to be good for references and quotes so that should be fine.
I've been visiting this site since Season 2 first aired and it's gone through a lot of changes in that time. I will continue to visit and contribute however I can. Jan. 26, 2016, 4:53pm

Sorry to hear there will be no more capsules/notes, like others I really enjoyed them and they helped me understand many references to things that haven't been a part of my life. I do totally understand having to adjust your priorities as time goes by. I've had to hand off a couple of web projects myself when the fun factor started to drop off.
Mike, I agree with the other commenters here: you have created a first-rate website for fans of the show. The look and feel is excellent, the signal-to-noise ratio here is in my opinion the best of any of the VB sites I've visited. I've even heard Jackson and Doc mention it in one of the commentaries (sorry, can't remember which).
I'm glad to hear the site will go on with news and commentary, and I think that opening things up to allow others to write capsules and notes might be a viable way to keep that going if there is interest.
In any case, thanks again Mike, you've done a splendid job, and enhanced my understanding and enjoyment of the show considerably. Kudos! Jan. 28, 2016, 2:30pm
