Slate Interview With Jackson and Doc, Plus Clips!
Going for a one-two knockout punch, Slate's culture blog, Brow Beat, has a podcast interview with Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer as well as two exclusive clips, to boot. While I won't go posting the podcast willy-nilly pretending this is the only place to get it, I have no such compunctions about the clips, so here they are. These are probably spoilers to some, so be warned! Enjoy:
Check out the full article to listen to the podcast, or you can head directly over to Soundcloud if you prefer. "Bot Seeks Bot" airs this Sunday at midnight.
Additionally, it confirms my suspicions that the last two episodes of the season are going to be tied together to create a loose sort of two parter- given that it says Doc is presumed dead by the beginning of the final episode, I'm guessing this is a result of next week's episode.
We also know that this season was going to have a Team Venture episode, which given next week's previews, is obviously going to be the Season finale, but I think Hank and Dean are going to be sent to live with the Action Man and Colonel Gentlemen respectively. We've already seen Hank in Shallow Gravy garb with the Action Man, and the interview noted that Colonel Gentlemen gets introspective in the last episode- has there been a more introspective character this whole season than Dean? I've got 11 I'm sure of, plus one I'm not so sure of.
The Clue Clown (deceased)
Red Mantle
Dragoon
Dr Zin
Steppenwolf
The Samurai/insect guy next to Steppenwolf in the car
Vendata (where'd you find the name out, or was it just a guess?)
Wild Fop
The eyepatch guy in the spiky gold helmet who has Doc and Billy lashed to the wheel of misfortune (which appears to be this episode)
Mommy Longlegs
The Mexican bandit guy from crowd scenes (notably helping repair the Cocoon in Shadowman 9) <not so likely due to the timeframe he'd have to travel from the trial>/the minister from the funeral Jul. 9, 2013, 11:44am

Can I just add that something about the character Steppenwolf is just brilliant? I don't even know what it is, I guess I like that he's got the sort of suave gentlemanly thing going on with the jacket and scarf and the voice. Very old-school. Jul. 9, 2013, 1:29pm

It occurred to me that the only guys in the Doom Buggy who we don't know for sure are Councillors are Phage and the brain-in-a-jar guy. If the latter is one of the 13, maybe Phage is in line to join the Council next? Jul. 9, 2013, 1:55pm
And I love that Steppenwolf's car is called the "Doom Buggy." Ridiculous in the best possible way. Jul. 9, 2013, 2:28pm
