"The Terrible Secret of Turtle Bay" Turns 10 Today

For those of you who have been with Venture Bros. since the ultra-beginning you may remember the pilot episode, "The Terrible Secret of Turtle Bay" airing way back on a chilly (I assume) February night back in 2003. Of course that night was February 15th, which makes the pilot episode (and by extension, the series) ten years old today. After season one was greenlit there was still over a year before the first canonical episode aired (sound familiar?) but the pilot is of course where it all began. Ten years is a pretty damned long time, and even though the wait between new seasons can sometimes boarder on excruciating it's important to be thankful for something that has had so much staying power. From Adult Swim for nurturing it to Jackson and Doc and the rest of the crew for toiling over it for a large portion of their lives, to you for watching it, buying DVDs and (hopefully) telling your friends. Venture Bros. couldn't have lasted this long without everything going so very right, and that's been a pretty cool thing to see these last ten years.
Amazing! I've been a fan of this show for THAT long. I remember saying to friends that night that "I'd like to see more of that show" (the 'where are we going to make poopy' joke tickled me just right that night and I liked Brock being badass). Maybe in another 10 years the show's 100th, and final, episode will air. Here's hoping!

I admittedly didn't get into Venture Bros. until the re-running of Season 1, like many people. Still, it is an honor to have the show still in production and be part of a fandom that cares so much, after all the changes that have happened over the years. Happy 10 years, VB.

I can't begin to guess how many times I've watched and re-watched VB. But even with all those viewings I still makes me laugh every time. I'm very grateful to it's creators for producing such a quality show!

I was one of the people that caught the series premire but never saw the pilot air. 10 years sure is a long time, though.

Same here, I happened upon it in the DVD extras one day (Whenever season 1 came out on DVD) and couldn't believe that not only did I miss it but had no idea about it!

I was still in high school when I took a dump at a friend's house and didn't flush. I wanted him to see my wrath.

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
