Jackson Publick Interview on the AV Club

I'm a little late on this but thanks to Sean Donnelly in comments for posting this. the AV Club interviewed Jackson prior to season three's start. It goes into the writing process and what makes characters tick and all that sort of thing. It's pretty interesting stuff, so you should check it out. I'll leave you with a snip:

I think it's more fun to grow to love characters who are flawed than it is to present perfect characters. Perfect characters aren't very funny. Certainly my friends are a strange, intense bunch of people, and people's families drive them crazy, but challenging relationships are always more rewarding. It was always our goal to have Dr. Venture be kind of the central character and be kind of an asshole, but somebody that you eventually grow to love. He's a mouthpiece for your snottiest, innermost thoughts, and he can also be a target for cathartic release when he's being too much of an asshole.

I hate to be "that person" and I have a correction for you. On the "Victor. Echo. November." capsule when Kim, Triana, and Dr. Girlfriend are all in the bathroom, Dr. Girlfriend's line:

Dr. Girlfriend: Pink poodle. It's a matte color. They give a Guild discount. You're in the Guild, aren't you?

Sould read "It's a M.A.C. color." M.A.C. is a cosmetics company (http://www.maccosmetics.com/). And yes, Pink Poodle is a real shade of lipgloss. (And available for purchase! http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/products/sp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY15112&PRODUCT_ID=PROD1438) If you listen to the DVD commentary for this episode Doc mentions how upset he was over the fact that M.A.C. didn't give them any freebies for name-dropping them in an episode.

Keep up the great work!

sadly I haven't had a chance to listen to all the commentary yet, which is lame given I run this site... either way my point was I missed that and correcting me doesn't make you "that person" because that's what you're supposed to do. unless by "that person" you mean "person who corrects my errors", which is what you are and it's totally not a bad thing. whew.

Pink Poodle was a lipstick shade(not gloss, a lipstick)for a while as well! most likely it'd been discontinued after this episode aired--it was a while ago. <3

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
