Mummy Mum Mailbag!
First we have some e-mail from waaaaaay back in May from 'Tex' answering a question from the previous mailbag:
In an email posted on May 1st Swanky~Tuna asked,
"I was wondering, do you know what song is playing when Brock is hosing down the X-1? I hunted through the Foetus and Steriod Maximus song samples on cduniverse but didn't seem to have any luck. Would you happen to know?"
I have to make a couple of guesses here but if you hang on for a minute you'll follow the logic.
The first guess is that the scene in question is from the pilot episode.
The second guess is that the song is "Hobbit Ride (To the Midnight Sun of Valhalla)," also noted here.
Here's a nice e-mail from Brandon:
Hi Mike, hope you're well - really appreciate your website - here's a pic you can post if you want for one of your updates - it's the Hank and Dean portion of the inside DVD art by Sienkiewicz - the original color is much more vibrant than in the DVD - sorry for the crappy pic but it's too big to scan, 15"x20"
And he's attached a pretty picture from the DVD. Feel free to grab it if you'd like. Thanks Brandon!
Here's a nice e-mail from 'Hop':
i just found your site last night while sort of battling insomnia and sort of accepting it's time-to-time rule over me. i'm a huge fan of the venture brothers (addict) and i spent better than an hour flipping through it. after i wore out my mouse finger i just wanted to drop a line saying "great site!" so... hey you've got a great site going. keep up the good work!
also i have a question, what do you think dr V's pills are? he calls them diet pills in careers in science, look like xanax to me tho.
Question from Kacy Mathews:
i just watched Escape to the house of mummies... my boyfriend and i are trying to figure out who is the voice of Dr. Orpheus' "master".... he sounds so familar... but we just can't place it..
Well, the Master is voiced by none other than H. Jon Benjamin, who voiced Coach McGuirk in that series. He's also the voice of Mothmonsterman in Aqua Teen Hunger Force, if you're not a big Home Movies fan (and shame on you if that's the case!) and Ben in Dr. Katz.Oh it was only a matter of time. Sing it, 'vbmaster1984':
were you at comic con, did you get to meet jackson and doc. I asked them if they would have a follow up to Escape to the House of Mummis Prt III. Their answer was no, hope that helps answer some questions. Good day Mike, i love the site
I was not at Comic-Con, but I applaud you for asking the tough questions, good sir! You will make a fine investigative reporter one day.And to wrap it up, Jon Bennett sends along the following question:
When can I get my H.E.L.P.eR. action figure? Or Any Venture Bros. figures? Is it ever going to happen?
As of right now (and to quote Jackson on the subject), nope. No plans for Venture related figures just now.So that's it for today. Catch the re-airing of Hate Floats tonight at 10:30pm EST (which is good because it's the most popular episode according to the poll), and don't forget that a new episode will be on next weekend. Huzzah! Thanks for the letters, guys.

This is probably totally out of place and you can call me on it if this has been stated before, but doesn't the evidence point to Brock being Doc's half brother? I mean, look at a picture of Brock and Jonas Sr. side by side! Giant chests, scrawny legs, and their faces (if not their hair) are nearly identical. It could just be a coincidence that they look so similar but... And then there are other subtle hints. Brock seems pretty adept at fixing complicated devices. In season two Brock wears a James-Bond-ish suit in one episode (Nanny) and in another episode (Mummies) his past self has a snorkel on for some reason, and in season 1 Doc's hallucination of his father was wearing the suit along with the snorkel. Again, coincidence or hint? Was the first "closest thing (he) ever had to a father" Jonas Sr. ? Is Hank so similar to Brock because he is his nephew? Just a guess here...
P.S. I don't think the boys are clones of the Doc and Brock based on their appearance. Even when the Doc was little he still had the same beak-like nose he has now. Dean and Hank seem to share the same womanly (it looks closer to Triana's and other female characters) nose. This could be an indicator that their nose is a feature that they inherited from their mother.
If this is right I'm betting that there are other hints that I haven't picked up. If it's wrong, hey, I'm just an obsessive fan that's dying to know like the rest of us. (I apologize if this post seems like a holier than thou, arrogant super-fan's desperate grab for attention, sorry.) God please give us at least two more seasons! Jul. 31, 2006, 8:25am

As for Hank & Dean, they said in Powerless that they were clones of an original Hank & Dean, but we don't know the origins or mother of them for that matter, only that they're 13th generation clones.
And the nose thing I have noticed, but I'm sure that's just a design decision/style. Like how everyone in the Simpsons has the same nose, or all the kids in South Park have giant heads. Jul. 31, 2006, 5:29pm

Second, as I've said before, Brock hadn't met Jonas Sr. as of the time Jonas "died." But if Jonas Sr. faked his death to become the real president (unlike the fake president mentioned by Hunter in assassinanny) or some other secret government position that would require the world beilve he is dead, then Brock could've easily met Jonas Sr. once he joined OSI.
That also explains "Operation Rusty's Blanket" because otherwise, why would an inept superscientist need special protection? Particularly the protection of an agent of Brock's caliber?
Because his Dad sent his half-brother to protect him, particularly since Jonas Sr. surely knew of Rusty's inadequacies?
I don't know, but I think there's at least more to the Jonas Sr. character then we've been told. Jul. 31, 2006, 9:16pm

But, anyway, I am just saying, based on what we know now, Brock never met Jonas Sr. and there are an infinite number of possibilities to who could be the closest thing he ever had to a father. Remember that Brock had a partner in OSI who was not Hunter that Molotov killed (the reason he cut out her eye), so it's possible and probably more plausible that this partner (who has not yet been introduced) is Brock's surrogate father figure. On Asasinnanny again. Hank relates to his mentor "agent Hunter" during the stake out, that he always wanted a family. this, whatever deal he made with Doc Venture, could of been just a loophole to have a family??????????
