Help Wanted: Dragon*Con 2011 Coverage
Are you attending Dragon*Con this year? Do you know how to write and/or take photographs, videos and whatever else? If you said yes to the first question and at least half of the second one then The Mantis-Eye Experiment would like you to do those things at Dragon*Con. Essentially I would just like someone to attend this year's Venture Bros. panel and write about it and snap some photos of any Venture Bros. related events. This can include cosplay, signings, get-togethers and whatever else. Also if you like to take photos but don't want to write, or only want to write and not take photos that's cool too.
Please read on for more specific info, but if you're interested please email me with samples of your work and I'll get back to you.
What's in it for you? You'll get your article/photos published on this site with full credit along with a link to whatever web site you want to promote. Sadly I can't offer any real compensation, though if our paths ever cross in the future I'll buy you a beverage of your choosing. This would be purely volunteer work, but if you're already attending the show this likely won't affect your plans too much.
So what am I looking for? As far as writing goes, something of moderate length, but not too long. You can just summarize the panel and talk about whatever cool Venture Bros.-related stuff you see there. There's no hard deadline, but within a few days of the convention ending would be a good scenario. We can work out the details. For your writing samples, I don't need anyone professional (though if you are a professional writer and want to do this I won't stop you), so just samples of writing you have done for your own blog or something would work. Just something that lets me know I won't have to spend a huge amount of time editing your article!

Writers
Update: This position has been filled, but if you really want to write stuff you can still apply! If it's good I can still use it!So what am I looking for? Photographers
For photographers I would prefer you have a somewhat decent camera. Again, I'm not expecting professional photographers, but as I learned during Comic-Con, using only a cell phone camera will not cut it. As far as what you should photograph, the sky is really the limit. Photos of fans, cosplayers, Doc Hammer and James Urbaniak are all good choices. The more you take the better, since we can pick the best ones. They can be either edited or unedited as well, your choice (though you should know that my own photo editing skills are not so great, so keep that in mind if you send me unedited photos). As with writing, we can work out the details via email. Samples of your photography can be pretty much anything as long as it's stuff you've actually taken and you'll be bringing a similar camera to the show.Final Word
Finally, you will retain all rights to your stuff. This site will get first rights as far as publishing goes, but after that you are free to sell or put them anywhere you want. Again, we can work out the details via email (for example if you want to put your photos on your Flickr or something beforehand) as I will be pretty flexible here.If you're interested please email me with samples of your work and I will get back to you.
