Holy-tapdancing-crap-on-a-stick! That was an amazing episode! David Bowie as the Sovereign, Brock as the leader of the henchman, Hank going into battle with him, Billy Quizboy and Pete White in Dean's hallucination, and the Star Wars guy piloting the X-1! This was an insane amount of fun crammed into 22 minutes!

I'm wondering what's going to happen with Phantom Limb, not only because he's escaped but also he got some of his limbs cut off in the crash (along with his dick, apparently). And why exactly did Dean start hallucinating, anyway? He was trapped in an engine room, he wasn't in very much danger that would make his mind conjure up such weird stuff to escape his fear.

I concur that The Order Of The Triad should have had a little more to do in this episode. But I liked how casual The Monarch and Dr. Venture were around each other, considering their history.

I hope to God that Cartoon Network renews the series for more than 13 episodes in a season. Considering how well the season 1 DVD did (it was Amazon.com's best selling DVD right after release), I hope CN pumps a little more money and resources into the show and give us a full 24 episode season. It would probably kill Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick, though....

I wonder if Phantom Limb's limbs grow back? Do they break off like a salamander's, in order to allow him to escape?

And what are the Diamond Dogs, anyway, apart from being a David Bowie album?

And boy does VB have a thing for David Bowie, or what?

Doc/Jackson are huge bowie fans and the diamond dogs are just another bowie reference.

Yes we all know that they are big Bowie fans. Duh. You missed the point of my question: in the Venture Brothers universe, what are the Diamond Dogs, ie, not just another Bowie album, but what are they "literally", in this cartoon series? Obviously they hunt people that Bowie/The Sovereign wants found, but what are they exactly?

And to add to the previous comment, yeah, we "get" that it's another Bowie reference - but Jackson/Doc put it in there with the idea that the Diamond Dogs are actual characters in the Venture Brothers universe, so, we can speculate on what the Diamond Dogs are, since we might actually see them in future VB episodes (anyway it is a possibility).

I'm a big Bowie fan so I've really enjoyed all of the references and characters inspired by his lyrics.

So far we've seen: Major Tom, The Action Man, Nomi calls Bowie "Queen Bitch", and now Bowie has referred to the Diamond Dogs. Also, in "Oh, You Pretty Things" Bowie refers to The Strangers.

Colonel Gentleman's List of Bowie Inspired VB Characters He'd Like to See:
Aladdin Sane, The Spiders from Mars, The Young Americans, Lady Stardust, The Supermen, Jean Genie, Lady Grinning Soul, Halloween Jack, Thin White Duke, and my personal favorite, the anti-Hank and Dean:
The Bewley Brothers.
