It was fun to see Billy doing a callback to Jonny Quest, getting his skin stained purple by the silver nitrate (Race Bannon stained his skin purple with berries to help impersonate a PoHo water god). Though silver nitrate does stain skin purple (or black), silver iodide would make more sense in a weather modification machine, since it is the compound used for cloud seeding.
