The Monarch's tactics were on point. His immediate rant to hit Ventech high and hard was Copy Cat's actual plan, complete with CopyCoptor. Bet next episode sees him and 21 pursued by both Guild and OSI goons in the subway, like in John Wick 2.

All these movie references are starting to sour me on Doc and Jackson. It makes it feel like they can't write anything that isn't swiped from a movie.

I'm pretty sure the constant film parodies are purposefully an integral part of the main underlined themes of the new season.

Actually, this is something that has been baked into the show since season 1. They have always intentionally lifted camera angles, scene set ups, dialogue, themes, and characters from movies, whether it is obvious or not. Itâ€™s more pronounced in this season but this is nothing new

Actually, every single character in the show is a parody of another character.

Brock = Doc Savage. Venture = Quest. Orpheus = Doctor Strange.

And almost everything is a reference to something else since the pilot fifteen years ago.

It's not a revelation (Juggly) or something to complain about (Beb)... it's literally what V Bros. is and has been... forever.

I just meant the plotlines are especially all movie based this particular season perhaps a bit more than normal.

Or maybe the movie references are more obvious to everyone this season.
The show is in season seven after fifteen years and slowly approaching 100 episodes.

Maybe people are just moving on.

The lack of advertisement and ratings seems to suggest [AS] has lost some interest too.

Regardless... I'll keep watching.

Brock is not Doc Savage. Jonas Venture is the Doc Savage look-alike.
Brock is the look-alike of Quest bodyguard Race Bannon.

But then why would Jackson and Doc say he's also based on Doc Savage in a commentary track?

Obviously, his is based on Race Bannon too.

Characters in this show are amalgamations of many, many things.

Jonas and Brock are each influenced by Doc Savage, to end the discussion. I forgot to mention that.
