I have a feeling Plume is adding season seven material, hence the most recent delay to 2018.

I think we've got one more season after this, as long as we get the whole season at pretty much the same time. The show tends to go in writing cycles of three (Seasons 1, 2, 3, then a soft reboot, Season 4A, 4B, 5, then a soft reboot, 6, 7, presumably 8).

When it does end, though, I'd hope that's not the last we hear of them and the VB universe (an occasional special, maybe a graphic novel, something like that).

I think I heard from a panel they said it's probably not actually. Something like "it's not renewed for 8 but we're not in danger".

According to what I read from Venture Home News: Season 8 is basically locked in as long as everything holds up that long. And Jackson moved to LA to work on the show in Titmouse's new offices full-time.

I just understood the bump to mean the end is nearing... its been a long road.

It'll be 2020 before season 8 even possibly airs. Probably a good place to end it.
Best to end it while everything is still great.
