Red Death (and his steed) appears to be based on Gustav Dore's Bible illustration "The Vision Of Death". There also appears to be some Scary Terry from Rick & Morty in him.

Future thoughts: The Guild paid a bounty on the original Blue Morpho, despite the death appearing to be an accident and Jonas Venture having had his civilian body. I can't think of a better way for The Monarch to rise through the Guild ranks AND get Sheila's affections back than to take credit for killing the new BM.

Red Death might also be based in part on The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allen Poe.

Allan*
Little Edgar was taken in by Mr & Mrs John Allan, though never formally adopted. Still, as a way to show gratitude, Edgar took their last name as his middle name.
