For those who remember me, I reviewed each episode of season 3 at Noise to Signal, and I seem to recall them getting a nice reception here, so I hope you don't mind if I point you toward my season 5 reviews. I intend to do the whole season, and between this and the Halloween episode it's definitely shaping up to be an interesting one!

Nice review. I personally thought it merited its double length (would've been great as the 90 minute special, even) but yeah, the resolution was a bit of a cop-out for them. Maybe they're just getting more humane.

I found myself agreeing with most everything you say in your review. It felt like a weak story for an hour-long episode. There were moments of the craziness we have come to expect from VB but not as much as before.

Not as crazy as before? I'd go on record saying other than MAYBE Showdown at Cremation Creek, this was the most epic story told on Venture yet.

We're not using 'crazy' in the same sense. The 'eat 100 pennies' was "crazy," Monarch and DRGF not being on the same page for role-playing was "crazy." The soylent green-Cleansuit storyline was rather by the book.
