Oh, every thing falls into place. The beetle guy, all of it. Still, not sure about a few things. Like, how is prom one month before Halloween? Who's St. Cloud's #2? How much geekier can the refs get?

Trust Doc & Jackson to get the timeline right. As I can see it we start the day after PROM, skip ahead a few days to when Hatred and Dean are recruiting at State U, days (weeks) later Doc gives his big speech, then we jump over Halloween and plow into winter as they story comes to a head. This could be as late as February.

Well, keep in mind that JJ called Doc the morning after Prom to tell him about the three month deadline, so the whole thing takes place between fall and winter of that year, I suspect late September to just before Christmas.

It's a homeschool pom though, not a regular prom. There's no guarantee that it's in June, as the learning beds don't follow a fall-spring school year.

Actually, since Operation: PROM takes place after the boys' summer internships, it seems likely that it's supposed to be towards late August/early September, in which case the timeline for college starting and Halloween coming before the delivery deadline works out reasonably well.

True enough. And with little to no understanding of outside schooling, it probably doesn't make a big difference to the boys when it is. Glad to have the timeline worked out finally.

Just rewatched the ep on Your Tube and it's made clear that this is a 90 day sequence, ending in winter so, yeah it had to start in September or October. mea culpa.

The question is: does Shallow Gravy take place anywhere at all? I mean, it's a fake documentary... It isn't necessarily canon.

The actual amount of time that passes durring the Shallow Gravy special is pretty small, so it could have conceivably taken place between when JJ calls Doc and when everyone is meeting in the kitchen.

So basically: Operation PROM -> First couple minutes of "Cleansuit" -> Shallow Gravy -> Next couple minutes of "Cleansuit" -> Halloween Special -> all the rest of "Cleansuit"

Which is bonkers, but awesome.

That could also happen whenever, as long as it's before Halloween. The idea is that the Shallow Gravy thing actually took place over the course of a couple weeks (or possibly months), which makes sense given that it was a bunch of cut up interviews. The only discrepancy that needed to occur in a weird place is Dean's new look.

I figure the Dean stuff came before prom. They probably were already making the video, and when they got the prom gig, it was the perfect 'making it' moment- something to give it an arc.
