BTW, the lyrics listed are slightly off, it's "Devil's Plaid" not "Devil's Plant".

It's nothing remotely deep like a metaphor or a reference, it's simply a fabric used for making jackets. I'm less sure about "Witch's Hair", maybe its another jacket fabric type like mohair.
