Sky Pilot says that flying Sphinx headquarters is like trying to drive a Green Machine made out of cement. I hope he was referring to one of these: http://www.marxtoymuseum.com/_borders/greenmachine.jpg
The hand controls of flying Sphinx headquarters are similar to those of that ancient, over-sized big wheel. I loved my Green Machine so much that it significantly delayed my learning to ride a bike :)

It's more of a long-standing African reference. I dont think it's original to any one movie.

the term "elephant's graveyard" comes from a legend that elephants, when they reached a certain age, would leave their group and go to a remote location to die alone. it was mainly because of large numbers of elephant skeletons were sometimes found together, like a graveyard. though the reason for them isn't because they go there to die, just due to behavioral changes when elephants become older (they tend towards softer plants that grow near water) or food becomes scarce (so they group where food can be found but many still die).

I dunno I wasn't sure if it was really necessary to include but I guess I'll add it.
