I feel as though I have just witnessed the most epic thing ever to happen. Ever.
I must say, drunk Dr. O is awesome! I'm very sad that Molotov is probably dead. She's sexy, kicks ass, and perfect for Brock even though they can never be together.
What a great episode!
But what's going to happen to Spinx if Gathers takes over the O.S.I.?

Well, with Gathers at the helm, he is free to morph the OSI into the image of justice that he envisioned it to be when he signed up originally. Really, it'll be SPHINX, but more legal and with 2,000 more soldiers.

...This could be a good thing...

But what of OSI? Remember what they said in Lepidopterists- the game keeps the crazy antagonists with the superweapons busy.

That's the thing: SPINX and the OSI have to exist separately, but they both have to exist. The OSI keeps the Guild in check, while SPINX handles all the crazy antagonists with superweapons who don't choose to make a career out of it. I wonder why they could never work together...I mean, they both had a common goal. Sort of. Right? What was SPINX exactly before the OSI took them down?

They could just be two different branches, or Hunter could leave Brock in charge.

I kind of wondered the same, since she's the one that decided she was going over the edge. Plus Brock had to hit the road immediately to the party.

They killed off 3 characters. Plus 21 quit. And 24 faded away.

Have they ever killed off a character who stayed dead? Phantom Limb came back. 24 is still dead but his ghost hangs around all the time. Somehow think Mol will be back ii of there is another season.

This episode just explained that that wasn't 24's ghost, and that he is actually dead dead.

Limb getting his limbs back was a bit of a cop-out, but what are you gonna do.

It may have been. The Arrested Development guy might have just been some guy 24 met that lied to him. Still, Gary has moved on from needing 24.

Hell, they couldn't even keep Henchman 1 dead. He's been in a grand total of two episodes, one where he dies and the one where he returns.

Yeah, what I mean is, I think the Monarch cares a lot more than he is letting on. He has a tendency not to take it well when people leave him so I'm curious as to how this will affect him.

Still, Gary needs to take some time and deal with everything that's happened to him recently. So I think it's a good thing.

Possibly, but I think he'll just start referring to Gary as "The Traitor" and move on. He gloated about how much Gary improved the efficiency of the Cocoon in Return to Malice; maybe he'll miss that for a bit, but when it comes right down to it the only man in his life is Rusty. An army of loyal henchmen and a working super-cocoon are ultimately meaningless toys.

It could be possible that The Monarch starts to lose a good chunk of his henchmen, once the others see that Gary/21 quit (just a thought)

What H said, but also after seeing their completely pathetic attempt to be threatening and the botched smoke screen, I'm more worried that the story arc for The Monarch/Dr. Mrs. The Monarch won't be so much their empire falling apart because Gary left so much as turning into the slapsticky comedy relief. "Oh let's watch these two bumble around for two minutes because they're completely incompetent and have that not tie in at all with 21 quitting!" You know, basically turning them into what the 21/24 role used to serve but without the poetic irony itself actually being funny.

Or maybe even more, now that the Monarch doesn't have 21 as an intermediary between him and the minions.
