Did anyone else notice all the cheesy forced lines? I couldn't tell if they were on purpose or not, but the "cowboy speech" part seemed way out of place for Brock. Same when he said how cool his job was. Am I the only one to think it was weird?

i found those a tad strange, the cowboy speech in particular. They seemed out of character for Brock and Billy.

On the contrary, I think Billy loves to dish out cowboy lines/speeches. Remember all the way back to Are you there, God? It's me, Dean? Billy spouted a saccharin-sweet line about parenthood being an experiment that no scientist is prepared for. In Ice Station Impossible, he went on about violence not being the answer when Impossible wanted to shoot Hank. In House of Mummies, he was using flowery talk in reference to sex. In O.R.B., he has the little introduction to the decoding mystery at the Venture Compound. And (arguably) even Any Which Way But Zeus when he's trying to dissuade White and Shoreleave from fighting with each other.

Brock is a bit of a different story, but I guess I wouldn't say I found his speech too out of place.

Billy is all about it for sure, he throws up "go team venture" when ever possible. Brock on the other hand has always been stoic and has taken his job with a grain of salt, and sometimes sarcasm.

Aww that reminds me, you know what we haven't had in ages? A good old "Go Team Venture!" from the boys. I know it's kind of out-of-character for them at this point, but holy crap we could really use one.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it thrown in the finale, even if only as a downer (like there's no heart behind it or the boys do it in the midst of coming to a sad realization about Team Venture).

those two speeches were the whole point of the episode. It's all about being heroic and doing what you're best at.
