ugh, this is already starting to kill me... one more episode, and then we have to wait to see if the series is green-lit for another season... and when that hopefully is officially announced its going to be another 14-18 agonizing months for 6 episodes... I have very little hope that I will see a new episode airing in the calender year 2011.

There's actually a few images there that haven't happened yet. Doc showing Jefferson a picture of the boys (maybe a kidnapping?), Mile High in some sort of pilot's seat (or something) with Hunter, the floating OSI base and somebody looking up at Shore Leave through blurred eyes.

They would be quite stupid to not renew it... the only thing that I worry about is $$ issues.... I'm sure it's not a cheap show to produce, and contract negotiations always make me queasy.
My nightmare is the fine folks behind VB and the folks over at Adult Swim can't come together and instead Tim and Eric are given a handful of McDonald's monopoly pieces to crap out another abomination.

Tim and Eric WILL be done, as far as we know, following the premiere of the Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job Chrimbus Special on December 5th.
They've made some missteps in the past, but Tim and Eric are wonderful comic performers and absolute world-class satirists. They deserve as much money as [as] can give them-- T&E and J&D can co-exist.

From what Jackson and Doc have been saying in interviews, etc. over the past year, it really wouldn't be healthy to hold your breath for a fifth season...not any time soon. The effort it takes for the two of them to put together this show seems to be a pretty self-consuming endeavor. While they've said this will not be "the end", they do anticipate taking a much needed hiatus. Whether VB will return in serial episodes, a feature length, or in print (as origonally concieved) has yet to be discussed.

Back after Season 3 but before season 4 it was mentioned that AS had green-lighted seasons 4 AND 5. Season 4 has mutated into two 8-episode mini-seasons but I believe the 5th season is still greenlighted. I think that was why the last episode of this seasons wasn't super-special -- they would be heading right into Season 5.
So I think the odds of new episodes in 2011 are good, but they will be late in the year.
