Was it? I watched Aladdin the afternoon before and it didn't strike me as all that similar.

Actualy while the music is not at all similar, it is in fact a parody of that. the only diffrence is instead of singinig about someone who's flying with him, the monarchs singing about his transport, hence the joke.
