10 and 2 is the position of Dean and Myras hands on the steering wheel, 10 O'clock and 2 O'clock. You youngsters that grew up with digital clocks wouldn't know that. :)

Hank also does the "10 o'clock, 2 o'clock" driver's ed mantra in Hate Floats, when Dr. Girlfriend makes him drive Brock's Charger, because she "Doesn't drive mad."

must be a Venture driving thing. i imagine that if we ever see Rusty driving, he'll say the same thing (i'm pretty sure he wasn't actually "driving" in this episode, despite him being behind the wheel.)

The hobbit thing I can't tell you, but in Driver's Training courses (at least in the old days) we were taught to look at the steering wheel as a clockface, and the best place to put your hands for maximum control was at the '10:00 o'clock' and '2 o'clock' positions. Now go out there and do some NASCAR!!

the hobbit thing is a led zeppelin thing, ("over The Hills and Far Away", "Misty Mountain Hop", "The Battle of Evermore," and "Ramble On" and maybe some parts of "Stairway to heaven" are all partially tolkien influenced).

it's just another in the long line of thinly veiled, or not at all veiled zeppelin referances.

on another, totally weird not, blind guardian is like one of my favourite bands, and they sing about lord of the ringsey crap constantly. i love it.
