Maaaaan, The Orb was broken?! Does anyone else besides me feel that that was just kind of a cheap shot?

And why exactly did the guild go to the Venture compound? My girl friend loves to ask questions during key points.

Billy told Phantom Limb that the Orb was in the Venture compound.

Oh pffff... sorry, it's late here. I have no idea.

I'll need to watch this a few more times before I pass final judgement on it, but as of now this episode was kind of a let down from Return to Malice.

Exactly. We're they there to protect the Orb or something?

The Guild is one of the few semi-competent organizations in the entire universe, they probably knew that the fake Orb was there and that it would come in a handy to trap Limb at some point.

Wait.... FAKE Orb? Since when was that Orb fake?

maybe i'm just projecting, but the present day orb never looked much like the original one. It looks more like a re-purposed paperweight to me.

Also, since there's little way for anybody to know that that orb was broken doesn't it seem strange that such a matter of supposedly great importance would've just kinda' been dropped by those involved except for PL?

I think it's implied that ORB itself was a secret and that secret was supposed to have died with the original Guild.

People! The Guild was at the compound because the Charter had been stolen by limb. The charter told that bowie was not the rightful heir to the guild. The guild was there to get Dean to hand control over to Bowie.

Completely correct. I thought this was clear as day once Dean came outside with Bowie.

I didn't think Sovereign was a hereditary position. I thought Bowie became Sovereign the way Limb tried to- through force. Or maybe by decision of the council.

Yes, but grandparents don't tell their grandchildren everything. And that still doesn't answer how the Guild knew that Limb knew.

The Guild knows everything. Plus, they've been out to get Limb since the beginning of season three anyway.

Bowie's plan was probably to prevent Pantom Limb from getting the ORB (if Bowie didn't know ORB was broken) and to to get Dean to secure his position as Sovereign through rightful hegemony.

I still don't buy that. If Sovereign was really hereditary, Doc would be the official Sovereign because he's the oldest living Venture (as far as we know at this point). Dean was more of a diversionary tactic, something to disorient Limb.

This is my feeling as well.

Unless Doc knew about this already and had relinquished the throne at some point (which would further explain why Killinger wanted him to be a villain; so he could retake it)
