I assumed the nose pimple/ allergic reaction were two separate things. The Monarch's complaining about his nose right before he goes into the bathroom was probably just a red herring for the viewers.

On a completely unrelated subject, is anyone else in awe with the direction that Jackson, et. al have taken the show this season? The removal of the boys' "safety net" and their sudden, unplanned entrance into adulthood magnifies the themes that have been building since the first time we saw them die. The idea of stagnation (whether from apathy, ineptitude, or forced) that became the hallmark of VB has been subsumed by something awesome.

I'm glad I've been watching since the pilot, and I have no regrets about the end. FORWARD THE FUTURE!

Yup. I've said it elsewhere, but the direction the show has taken this season has been really riveting, especially since (no offense to J&D) the show has been much more tightly written, edited, and directed this season than the (personally) slightly lackluster season 3. Bring it on!

Also, I think it's fascinating that the old style of the show didn't even become stale before J&D started mixing it up so profoundly. It's courageous of them.
