I'd consider a shape-shifting nightshade more in the realm of the Krampus (or possibly Killinger?), sort of a demon.

A shapeshifting Nightshade, in this situation, is most likely referring to the creature from D&D but could also be referring to the DC comics villain of the same name. I would think that since 21 made the list it would be a reference to something nerdy like that as opposed to another character in the Venture universe.
