Great episode plot-wise, but am I the only one who thinks that so far, Season 4 is seriously lacking in the funny?

I've found all three of these episodes funnier than the season 3 average, actually.

I agree. I feel like as the Venture-verse gets bigger, the opportunity for "stand-alone" episodes diminish. I guess Handsome Ransom was kinda its "own" episode, but I am still kinda confused with that one.

Seasons 1 and 2 generally you could watch a random episode without ever seeing the show before and get the general idea of the show. Now 3 and 4 it seems like you need to do your homework to get whats up.

Is that a bad thing? I think I like the deeper plots personally.

Well, if they kept doing the same thing, it would get boring, of course. It would be just another parody that would get stale. Whether Jackson and Doc intend it, each season has had progressively more intricate background plots. Cannot wait for the next one!

Deeper the plot the better. Continuity and back story makes for a great show.
