This was a good one. The whole ransom plot didn't get enough play time as far as I'm concerned. Also, they were really milking the Captain Sunshine/ possible pedophilia angle for all it's worth. It really delivered pitch perfect for me though. A definitive Superhero Episode. I'm a bit unsure about the Superfriendsesque narration at the end though. It works with the whole superhero theme, but it also breaks the reality. Well, you know it's a good episode when they use The Pupa Twins (Moppets) and nobody complains.

The Moppets/Pupa Twins had no speaking lines, though.

Oh I think Dr. Mrs. The Monarch knew what was going to happen, she just didn't want to diminish The Monarch's vengeful wrath by telling him it was a bad idea.
You know to be "supportive"

She looked pissed leaving the taxi--probably pissed at herself. I think it was a play on the old superhero cliche of Villian--"HA!HA!HA!"--trying to destroy the hero but only increasing his powers. The voice was the obvious cheezy narration we remember as Wee Spuds watching that stuff!

I finally got a GOOD disk of the third season--I guess there were some bad ones--and both "Doc" and "Jason" mention their suprise that fans forget that Dr Mrs The MONARCH! and The MONARCH! are EVIL! They are bad people. We like them because they are funny, have a relationship, but they are perfectly happy with killing random innocent people.

Dr. Mrs. The Monarch may just not be as smart as she thought she was in this case and was pissed she screwed up.
