So does this mean that Gary/21 lost his steroid contact or did they just dart the cabbie to avoid the fare?

I was under the impression that 21 was only ever paying the cabbie to avoid having to kill him. Where did you get that he was his steroid contact? *baffled*

That was my impression too, that since the Monarch mobile was destroyed, they're stuck taking cabs and killing the drivers instead of paying them. And that 21 wasn't comfortable with it, so he just paid him out of pocket.

But what happened to, "I'm a henchman, I don't carry cash! I don't even really make cash!"

Yeah but 21 has a side job as a comic collection customer service rep.

At a horror film fest last night I won a bunch of comics by answering some trivia. Anyone else here know who voiced Chucky!? I thought not!

Anyway... back to VentureVerse (can I trademark that!?), How did White and Billy get all that check???

I got the impression that they had won a lawsuit after faking injuries (they were wearing neck braces, and Billy ripped his off after answering the phone).

See that would make sense but I thought the Monarch wasn't the level when he can use lethal force, but maybe things changed since the couple filed together.

Good point. I guess that's why he can't afford to tip him.

I just rewatched the scene... forgot the Monarch had taken the cab because Capt. Sunshine had dropped him off at the prison yard. Whoops.

Not sure about the lethal force thing. I think when Phantom Limb admonishes him for the handguns in Hate Floats, it's because of the threat level Dr. Venture poses. There seem to be plenty of examples of the Monarch and Co. killing people, civilian, superboy sidekick, henchman and otherwise.

Also, and this ties in with your post below re: the time lapse of the last episode, in the 8+ months that have gone by since the death of 24, 21 has been off on his own a bit, with the LARP crew, so it's possible he's been making money through his comic collection business. And he has to have SOME money... how else would he afford all those toys and low-low payments of 24.95, etc?

Now we're thinking about it too much. AHH.

It says on wikipedia that the guild allows limited force, it really depends on the arch, but odds are they don't mind a cabbie or henchman turning up dead because henchman sign up for the job through the guild or the supervillan and as long as the dead civillan isn't someone whose death would be noticed by the general populace(I'E a senator, an actor extrea extrea) their probably fine with it. and besides wonderboys death happened right before the guild dropped him, so the guild was probably more concerned witht he monarchs frame up than with him burining a sidekick.

Okay, my bad. I completely missed the "slay him" comment since it was noisy in the house when I was watching it the first time.
